Looking for the right buyer for my amazing Shark enhanced Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi All

After 6 years I've decided to sell my beloved Octavia II VRS which has been a Shark inspired project for the last 4 years. A list of some of the modifications to the car is included below

  • Cold Induction Kit
  • Full Miltek system
  • K04 Conversion
  • Wagner Intercooler
  • Sachs Race Clutch
  • Quaife Diff
  • Wastegate Actuator upgrade
  • Diverter Value upgrade
  • Bilstein B12
  • Full Polybush
  • Porsche Front Callipers
  • Uprated Disks and Pads
  • Stage 3 map and beyond
  • Golf GTI steering wheel
  • Columbus Navigation
  • 2 sets of Alloys – Borbet 18” Alloys with brand new Vredestein Ultrac Vorti Tyres for Summer and 18” original VRS alloys with Vredestein Xtreme Winter tyres

The car has been dyno'd at circa 350BHP at Shark on many occasions and is immense to drive.

If you're interested in knowing more then drop me a line. I'm not in a rush to sell the car and will only entertain serious expressions of interest. I'm looking for the right buyer who will appreciate and love the car as I have and ultimately continue the project.

Cheers

Hi Andy

Have you got any pics and how much are you looking for?

I'm considering either modifying my PD or selling it and getting a newer model.

Hi

I've uploaded a couple of pics to an Album from the Shark Open day in 2015. I'm looking for £12k

I'll load more photos as I clean her up as the weather improves.

Cheers

So I'm guessing this is a 2009/10 car, with some miles and a bit of MOT........

Here is the history of the car. The car has MOT till the end of November 2016

The car has done 98,000 miles but that isn't a real reflection of the age of much of the componentry. In Sept 2011 when the car was just short of 2 years old I had the Stage 1 map done which was amazing in relative terms taking the car from 200bhp to circa 240bhp. In June 2012 when the car had 48,000 miles on it I had an issue with the engine. Skoda tried to claim that the warranty was invalid due to the map but thanks to Ben's help and the support of the parts director at the D.M. Keith dealership in Shipley we were able to prove that the problem was nothing to do with the map and was caused by the failure of a cam chain tensioner, which was a known issue on the derivative of engine I had. Skoda replaced the engine under warranty thankfully! I then had the full resonated Miltek system fitted to the car, the ITG cold induction kit and a Stage 2 map to 275bhp. From there I then continued with a stream of additional enhancements. Next was the addition of Bilstein B12's shortly followed thereafter by full polybushing. I then decided to have the K04 turbo upgrade and the Porsche callipers fitted to the front with uprated discs and pads all round. Given the car was then generating over 300bhp I had the clutch replaced with a Sachs performance clutch and then went on to have a Warner intercooler installed and a Quaife diff. Other changes have been made to support the uprated internals which include an uprated wastegate, diverter valve and even an injector upgrade but I ultimately reverted to the standard injectors. Ben then went on to map the car to in excess of 350bhp all of which they have full records and dyno plots for. As referenced the car also has internal upgrades. It has the full Columbus navigation system installed and a Golf GTI multi function steering wheel with R badge.

The car has really only done circa 50k miles since the engine change and all the main component changes. Over it's life I've had wheel bearings replaced, drive shafts reconditioned and wheels laser aligned.

The car is in essence a touring car but looks like a family salon. It can be driven as either.

The car has only been cared for by Shark Performance and is always taken there for servicing and additional work.

Hope that helps!

The car was first registered on 10th December 2009 and I'm the original owner

The car has Bi-xenon headlights and leather both of which were factory fit options at time of manufacture

Some proper detailed pics of the car please if possible?

I am presuming the Fuel Pump has also been replaced for level of power?

Hi

Thanks for the question. I'm working on cleaning the car up and will post lots of detailed pics in due course. I'll check re the Fuel Pump with Shark as I can't remember off the top of my head.

Hi

I've checked with Ben. We didn't need to upgrade the Fuel pump. I've always taken the advice and guidance of Ben and can only speak in the highest terms of their knowledge and capability

Cheers

Not filthy. Just have had too much work on and been away so not spent the time required yet. Hopefully should have a host of pics done by end of March

I've finally made some good progress on cleaning the car up and have uploaded some photos. I will now be looking to sell the car actively in the next few weeks

If you are selling the winter wheels separate I may interested.

  • Author

I'm not planning too.

Thanks

If you do, keep me in mind.

Possibly one of the worst adverts I have seen for a while, This wants removing and a proper advert with some actual pictures posting if you are serious about selling the car.

Thanks. Fair comment. I haven't really been actively trying to sell to this point but now will be. I'll do as you suggest.

Ultimately the car will sell itself to a serious informed buyer. It's immaculate and the performance is off the scale

Sounds like it is a stunning example with a great spec! Any enthusiast will know this and a good advert will probably be the icing on the cake I am sure :)
