So now I've picked up our 190 DSG L&K Combi I can add a bit to the thread. Firstly, I should have bought a DSG last time round. Great box, silky smooth changes, works a treat with the stop/start.

  • You really, really need the sunroof - it's the standout feature of the car.

  • Its a fantastic motor... Parked up tonight in town car park... Couldn't stop looking back at the bloody thing ... Actually look forward to the drive to and from work :-)

How long have you been waiting?

My 8 year old son's comment on mine was that inside it's like granny's BMW X1, only posher!

Only 2 months, but was originally given week 1 build and delivery this week, now no confirmed build week and possibly week 20, but Skoda Ireland and dealer says it will be a lot sooner ......

I'll always take better than a beemer even from an 8 year old ( desperate from Dublin)

Had my Kombi since October. Apart from the silly niggles with the low mpg & odd DSG gear programming covered elsewhere on the Forum I am very pleased with it.

It's well built, well equipped (well mine is), drives well, is very quiet, comfortable and even after three months I'm not sure I know how to use everything - assuming I have found it's even there yet!

It's a lot of car for the money.....and I have 2 BMWs as well. Both of which cost a lot more to have similar options included!

I am generally happy I chose it as my 'every day' car.

Ok, I ordered right at the end of December and have been quoted build week 5 - unconfirmed at present.

Mine is a 190DSG L&K estate with a few options thrown in for good measure.

Thanks sounds like it might be worth waiting for after all

Best car I've ever had. 3000 miles done, engine loosening and even mpg is fine.

It's nice to have a thread with some positives. There have been too many of late that are full of problems with the Mk3 Superb, peppered with some general dissatisfaction.

Despite my best efforts to be rational about the whole thing, it's a little disconcerting when waiting for one to be built!

<gloat>I'll share my thoughts next week...</gloat>

1) Don't worry too much about the unconfirmed build date. Mine started at about 6, moved out to 15 before jumping back to 2. Confirmed build dates typically come with only 2 weeks notice. So allowing a couple of weeks for delivery (yes, I know it can be more), you could have yours in Feb.

2) Have a look around at what else your money will buy you. When I did this, I realised that nothing came close to VFM. Mind you, that was before the latest deals on Audi A4!!

I hope you get as much enjoyment as I'm expecting ! It's VFM that's stopping me cancelling

I am also in the Same boat, ordered a 190 L&k combi. I am in Dublin too. Bizarrely I could only order the brown interior which i was not mad on

Value for money :)

Why would you even consider cancelling? This car is a no-brainer in my book. As others suggested, it’s unbeatable value. Comparison with A4, really? Spacious in the extreme vs. rather compact? Apples and oranges. Besides, any and all Audis are poor value in contrast.

My profile says ‘280’, but I haven’t actually got that yet. Due in 2-3 weeks. Meanwhile, I’m driving a 190 L&K 4x4.

At first, I found the 190 a bit disappointing on performance – compared also with a previously owned Superb II 170 (manual) in which I did over 100k miles. But that proved to be an unfair comparison. 5000 miles on, the engine has loosened up very nicely and is now a pleasure to drive. The power and performance is ample for any and all real-world situations. The additional I will nevertheless be getting is just an indulgence.

Above all, it’s simply an absolutely great car to live with, no matter which engine (I suspect).

Lol thought it was some extra on the car, but it comes standard

Only Got my car on Monday (so still in the honeymoon period) but I know exactly what you mean.

FXB, I waited nearly 4 and a half months for my car and it was hell, but boy was it worth it, It's a real pleasure to drive (Iv'e never been in work so early) the best car I have ever had. Quite, refined, comfortable, packed with gadgets and looks amazing even in Pacific Blue (FOC colour option).

Hang in there you wont be disappointed.

I've just put a deposit down on a Rosso Brunello L&K Estate 190 DSG. Not driven it, bought as it is exactly the car I wanted all bar the DSG box and Skoda have dropped what I think is a gorgeous colour. Sat in the showroom ready to drive home next week.

Drove a mk 7 Golf 150 DSG a while back and enjoyed that. Just hoping I don't regret going auto but I can't find an L&K 190 estate in Rosso with beige leather as a manual box.

My local dealer in Walthamstow has one of these in their showroom, could this be the one that you have purchased?? :)

Is that the one that is on autotrader for a tad under £30k

I was considering that one but decided to order a new one which had a few more bells and whistles. It's a 4x4 I believe.

The two guys I spoke to on the phone seemed decent people,

That's the one. Tad over £30k and 2wd. The guys at Walthamstow are very good. Very helpful and gave us a good deal. Stunning car. I really only went to see if it was as good in the flesh as it is in the photos and see if there was a deal to be had. Ended up making the first compulsive buy if my life! I usually research the hell out of buying a pack of light bulbs let alone a car

When my Superb arrives it will be the 4th car that I've purchased from Warren at Transcity, they are really a superb outfit (if you'll excuse the pun) to deal with, very friendly and very customer focused and that goes for the whole team there.

I had my test drive at Transcity in that Rosso estate. They took it out of the showroom for me, put trade plates on, gave me the key and let me go off on my own. Car had about 15 miles on it I think.

Anyway test drive convinced me to buy one but it was a pity Trancity could get nowhere near newcardiscount.com price. I was going to buy a SEL but ended up with a L&K for less that the dealers best for SEL.
