Garret hybrid pd130 turbo information

Featured Replies

I've had my Fabia vrs a while now and looking down the route of 200bhp area.

It's currently about 160ish.

It's had a replacement turbo in its life to a hybrid garret pd130, will this turbo be suffice to go to the 200bhp area or is this just a similar replacement to the kkk turbo?

Thanks

Do you know the details of the hybrid? Hybrid can mean many things. VC hybrids offer same power as a VB

As their pretty much the same size.

I had an MD376 from turbo dynamics, they cut back the blades and bore out the internals with new bits inside too, and run at higher boost, they can produce loads more than a standard VB even if the same physical size.

Its obviously based on a garrett not a KKK by the way.

My advice is if you do, prepare for a bigger intercooler, organic clutch and increased turbo lag when you floor it.  The power band goes higher in the rpm range and arrives later than a stock turbo, so you loose some of the TDi fun but end up with a petrol like rev range
