Service book?

Featured Replies

Just had a nosey through my skoda manuals and noticed I have a service plan booklet with the car details in, but no actual service book. There's a sort of flap on the back page where you'd expect a service booklet to be sitting but it's not there.

Does everyone else have a service book that can be stamped? I don't want to have to hand the car back to the lease company without a book or proof or servicing.

You don't get them these days, the assumption being its held electronically by Skoda.

I believe you can still get them but dealer has to order/supply

Ahh right, I assume that's to encourage you to use a skoda dealership instead of an 'authorized' service/repair garage as only skoda will have access to the electronic service files?

The dealer can print the service carried out and you put it in the back of your service book

The dealer will usually print out a copy of the work done by default. OR they will ask you if you want a hard copy if they are into the environmental managament stuff. Service books are as much a part of history as betamax video recorders.

I have had a service book supplied with my last 2 superbs, last one in april 15, first i've heard of them not supplying them but mine are lease cars so maybe they spec it.

You can still get them, but Skoda will charge about £15 for it.

I get an itemised bill/receipt after I service our cars at the dealers so there's your proof aswell as the digital one. I keep that in the manual holder then. They only stamp your book these days if you pacifically ask them to.

Ok thanks guys/gals. I'll just ask for an itemised bill and ask them to ensure it shows the mileage on too
