I'm thinking of putting a cone filter on my monte 1.6 tdi. 

What size inlet do i need ??

I'd say easiest thing to do is shorten pipe between engine and maf sensor and fit an adapter to the maf sensor, then the adapter will dictate the size required oh and the space available for the cone filter try eBay or google for the adapters there usually bolt on
