Rapid DSG ECU has come loose

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I own a Dec 2014 Rapid - Diesel DSG. A month after the first annual service, I noticed that ECU (behind the air filter) has come loose from the bracket and is sort of dangling a little and resting on the bottom part of the air filter hose. It (ECU) is not secured to anything. What may have caused this and how to fix this? Any pointers?

Cheers!

ECU should be mounted with security screws to a back wall...

Have you got any pictures?

Ah! I get it - there were no screws on ECU but the back wall had a lot of holes - esp couple of big ones in the corners. Looks like the screws fell off. Will take to the service center tomorrow.

Will post pictures tomorrow (it is pushing on 10PM now so not enough light).

Having said that it likely isn't a Euro Rapid, but the VW Vento based one - being in South Asia.
