isn't there a jumper if you open up your computer and set it which can be set to clear the admin password

That would BIOS not Operating System.

Plenty of free Windows password "adjusters" available on the web too which may do less damage than letting Windows run a repair against itself :D

ERD works a treat. But as Chris says. Theirs loads out their that do the same thing.

Yep..

thing is unless you "reinstall" with a xp SP2 cd.. it will break your installation..

whats the point of that then?

I've got a linux program on a floppy that will boot and change a Windows admin Password - only used on XP but assured it works on 2k/NT too :thumbup:

10. Keep your eye on the lower left hand side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press SHIFT + F10. This is the security hole! A command console will now open up giving you the potential for wide access to your system.

It's not a security hole. It's a very useful tool to allow access to the computer while installation is running.

Also, note that you won't be able to recover encypted files (encypted using EFS) by this method.
