Superb Combi 1.6TDI Greenline

Featured Replies

Hi Guys!

I bought my car in January and I thought to put it up for all to see. I collect the car from Germany and drove directly (around 1600km) to Estonia. I must say, the car is indeed SUPERB!

Anyway, about the car:

MY12 Skoda Superb Greeline Combi 1.6 TDi 5 speed manual

Mocca Brown

145k

Bi Xenon headlights with AFS

Dual zone Climate Control

Rain sensor

Start/Stop system

Brown leather manually adjustable seats

Electric boot

Auto-dimming mirrors outside and inside

Park Assist (F+R Sensors)

Columbus

17" Alloys

Cruise control

Maxidot computer

Plus few more options

Future plans:

LED lights (inside and outside, boot, etc)

Rear View Camera (OEM and cut the tailgate with the saw)

Mudflaps front and back

3 spoke steering wheel

Coding with VCDS (fogs lights for CH/LH, tailgate remote closing and removing beeping, CC speed in Maxidot, etc)

I looked "firifall" camera test and still decide to take OEM camera (I have Columbus headunit) instead of buying cheaper camera and also CVBS to RGB converter.

In general car looks and acts SUPERB! The trunk is enormous, seats are very comfortable, engine runs smootly, feedback from steering is very good and fuel consumption is best of the best!

If you have some good experience with Superb DIY`s or do you have same good ideas, how can I make this car even better, then do not hesitate to share it.

Enough of talking, I´ll put up some pictures (sadly these are the images of the seller):

Here is picture after arriving to Estonia:

Here you can see, how big actually is the trunk :)

Thank you for good words! I agree, interior looks nice and fits nicely with Mocca color.

I have found one failure with steering wheel buttons - left side < > buttons ain´t working. Does this fault is similar to somebody? Maybe I have to decode with VCDS or update SW in Columbus? My Columbus SW is 40XX at the moment.

Any advice?

Long-time no update!

Winter is finally over and I can enjoy 17" Alloys with summer tires.

I have made 150 000km service (145€) at local dealer and now engine runs much smoother. Also I changed long-life oil interval to shorter one (15 000km), because year-round weather conditions in Estonia is not as same in Central Europe. Also I ordered OEM mud-flaps (42€) from Superskoda and they should arrive soon.

I manage to get VCDS and I have done lot´s of coding:

- Start/stop system disabled

- CH/LH to fog lights

- Tailgate remote open/close (without annoying beep)

- Emergency braking light flashing

- etc

Sadly I haven´t find solution for steering wheel button problem - left side < > buttons aren’t working. Also I couldn´t activate cruise control display in Maxi DOT.

If anyone has thoughts, how to solve these issues?

Electric trunk motor is a very weak part and there is big possibility that it is going to be broken.

Few thoughts about fuel consumption. According to factory data: city - 5,4l/100km; highway - 3,8l/100km and AVG - 4,4l/100km. In reality without S/S and with 17" wheels: city - 6,5l/100km; highway - 4,8l/100km and AVG - 5,5l/100km. Ok, real life results are slightly different, than in paper, but taking into account the size of the car and comfortability, I´m more than satisfied.

Also one idea for Greenline cars, which has no spare wheel and jack. Due the fact, that tire foam is always exceeding "Best before" date and most of the tire problems are caused by nail/screw/or some other sharp element, then I strongly recommend to use tire fat string kit:

You can easily repair your tire on the road.

Stay tuned...

nice:)

How did you disable the start stop system? i have vag com :) and can do coding but never found anything about disable it other than its not possible?

  • Author

There is different options for disabling Start/Stop, but I manage to get rid of with this coding:

VSDS - 19 Gateway -> (Long) adaption -> channel 13 -> change code 002000 into 292029

I hope, that will help you!

thanks ill get started with it soon and let you know :) here in holland we have a website.... www.gerritspeek.nl it has all the faultcodes and also things you can change by vagcom vcds :) maybe something for you guys with translation ? :)
