damaged wheels

Featured Replies

I've managed to 'scrape' my 2 front wheels on my 2013 Monte Carlo! I really haven't got a clue what to do, any advice appreciated, thank you.

Well, it's the only advice you have received so far!

Photos of the damage would assist others to give you more specific (and helpful) advice.

Damn, you're right. It's at least a year since I went to a party.

Post a pic, it will literally tell a thousand words as to what your options are.

Thank you for the constructive advice, I will attempt to upload photos. I think my initial post was too brief, what I was unsure about was should I purchase new wheels or take it to a specialist 'wheel man'?

Also, comparable costs? Any advice appreciated. (well almost any) :-)

One thing as you will probably already know is that all dealerships use a local garage or wheel refurb man (woman) and push a lot of business their way via cars that are traded in against a new/ish car. A high % of cars traded in have some form of alloy damage. For example, I traded my last car in to a Skoda dealership (Octy 13 plate) and it was the third Skoda I had bought from them

and thr same Salesma didn't check the car. He asked was their any panel damage, the reply was no.You may pay for your alloys to be repaired from £30 - £70 per wheel. One thing is for sure Skoda dealerships don't pay that - the challenge is to find out who they use in your area. Pictures would help as Colin suggested - don't though give yourself a hard time over a couple of scuffed alloys.

Touch them up temporarily until after the winter, just stop the corrosion that can happen to the alloy.

Greyish Black touch up easily available just search the numerous threads on the colour,

that is if it is Trinity Alloys on your Monte Carlo.

(Some later ones had Gigaro 'Gloss Black', fitted after a load of Trinity wheels were pinched.)

Try Wheels UK in Coventry. :coffee:

Is that why they have Gigs on? I always thought it was end of the line parts bin special cars?

Anyway, it's a 2013 Monte so they will be Trinities. Get a can of "Back Magic" I know they sell full spray cans of it in Halfords but don't know about touch up kits. Probably. But if not then spray some into the lid or something and apply with a small brush or something. This will possibly be good enough depending on how fussy you are.

Trinity alloys are not 'Black Magic'  though,

but hopefully by now the damaged wheel has some touch up on it.

Some Monte Carlo did get Gigaro on at the factory, and some were changed at the dealers.

then some were changed by owners.
