Canton sub upgrade?

Oh, side note the spare wheel subs are often similar in size under all that plastic....

If I'm not mistaken its no more than a 6 inch speaker in the Canton Sub so, anything bigger is going to be heading in the right direction.  Amperage will be the next thing to look at, no point in sticking in a larger sub if you haven't got the power to achieve anything with it.

Are you looking at a second sub or, still use existing?

Not really much much thoughts or steering on this TBH, just picking up on the fact you could get a sub in the spare wheel area thats all and if OEM then all the better ?

Would also so nice to somehow reuse the old canton container (or location at least) but then I'm not really looking to go ground breaking on it, least possible effort and cost would suite me TBH, if I do anything at all that is!

Not desperately bothered, just that I searched for it on ebay a while back and it kept coming back up and hadn't really discussed it here !

I suppose one option might be leave the sub existing in place ( or remove and store) along with the spare wheel, just carry some emergency foam and then create something to take up the entire spare. But I'm not really keen on this idea, and its not a huge priority.

I used the existing Canton wiring and fitted a 6.5" Vibe duel voice sub and enclosure, so much better than the puny little sub that the Canton comes with.

What's the RMS feed into the canton sub?

75 watt RMS seems to stick in my mind.

Once the weather gets warmer I'm going to have a look at fitting the Vibe sub into the original enclosure so it looks factory.

It will probably sound naff in comparison to the enclosure it's in now. If you can put up with it not looking totally factory I would definitely leave it as is. I don't think it looks bad at all!

Anyone know how the Canton compares to the Fender in the VW's??...my Mrs has the Fender in her Beetle and I rate it!!!

I have now turned it sideways on and it doesn't look so intrusive.
