age old question about seats

Featured Replies

hi all

i realise that the mk1 octy has odd seat runners but is this the only reason that other octy seats wont fit or is it physical size? i havnt had a proper look yet but surly if the runners/frame could be removed from a mk1 seat could something not be fabricated to adapt them to fit say mk2 or later seats which are more readily available?

The runners are part of the seat base. Theoretically it can be done, but a lot of work involved in it.

Didn't realise they were an odd size. Don't mk4 golf seats have the fitment as the mk1 octy

Yes they do.

...and Mk1 A3 and Mk1 Seat Leon.

Cheers for that exaudisi, I am looking at changing seats but want factory ish looking, and getting to know what manufactures will fit. Are the audi and seat ones a straight bolt out, bolt in affair

Yup. Anything built off the mk4 golf chassis is a direct drop and bolt.. bora fit too.
