Wind deflectors

Featured Replies

Had a little look online at the various options available for my car, probably going to get the Heko ones as they look like they'd match up nicely with my tinted windows.

Got a few questions though as I've not had deflectors fitted before:

1. Are they worth their pound of flesh, deflectors in general that is?

2. In regard to the Heko, and others I presume, are they easy to fit, don't want them to suddenly fly off at 70mph with the windows down and take my eye out!

Thanks in advance

If you value German TUV certification, then I would recommend Climair ones, quality is top notch but they are double the price of Heko ones.

I do appreciate being able to have the window slightly open and I like the looks, but beware you will get more wind noise in the cabin even with the windows closed.

I bought some for my leon, fitted the fronts and took them straight off again. They inevitably interfere with the Windows as they sit in the channel at the top of the seam and I didn't like the idea of it on my new car.

In the flip side many liked them. Others have complained of wind noise which is going some on a Leon as they sound like the Windows are open anyway!

The help ones I bought were well made. I'd recommend buying extra clips for the fronts to keep them secure and in place.

Hope you get on well with them. Good luck and all the best ;)

I've got Climair fitted to mine and I like them; look good, the ability to have "fresh" air coming in without the rain is good and they were easy to fit too. I haven't had any issues with wind noise either; OK, if you drive without the radio on you'll notice it, but driving with music on playing at a normal volume you shouldn't hear it.

The only issue I had was the window safety mechanism kicking in when the deflectors blocked it's path, but that was when they were newly fitted and no longer have that problem, they've just got to get bedded into the seal properly.

Cheers guys, I think I'll have to do a little more research into them as still not entirely convinced whether or not to purchase them. Think for sure that they will compliment the car aesthetically, but with wind noise and fiddly parts; just want a fit and forget!

I got them and took them off an hour later. Almost constant wind noise from them. They've been in the boot since.

There is a little extra wind noise but not annoyingly. You can have the windows open a little in the rain without getting wet and they also eliminate the rain water obscuring the wing mirror. Fitting is easy but as above it can sometimes take a while for the anti pinch mechanism to settle. I didn't even put the clips on mine, just used the 3m sticky fixes already on the deflector. Someone advised me that when using the clips it's a good idea to cover them with a little bit of cloth so they don't scratch the top of the window.

I would give it more than an hour if you do fit them though. If you buy on the internet you are covered by the 'distance selling act' so if you're really not happy with them you have at least 10 days if not longer to send them back.

I have them in mine. If it's a little Windy outside they are noisy on higher speeds.

Sort of like them though, they blend in with the darkened glass. :)

Got my car on Friday, fitted deflectors on Saturday (from superskoda). As long as you fit the metal clips, included, iaw the instructions the safety mechanism does not kick in. No noticeable increase in wind noise when windows are closed.

I have Team Heko ones fitted on my car. I didn't use the metal clips - just the 3M strips. It took a little while for them to bed in, and one of them has dropped down a little bit. Most annoying feature is the wind noise, which I find to be excessive. It is so bad that I would like to take them off but I really like the look of them.

I was looking at getting these but I think the wind noise issue may have put me off.

Also, I'm looking at fitting the SuperSkoda window blinds so would this make the window seals too tight for the glass to close properly?

The main reason for installing would be to have the window open a bit in bad weather and also when you wash the windscreen, this all comes in too!!

Same here,

This thread has now made my mind up thanks.

I'm NOT getting them.

Funnily I was to post on here.

I removed mine last week. Noise was main attributing factor.

They did look ok though.
