Now I want to set up rear view camera.

Somebody say that ı need a convertor for camera.Other says you have to use oem camera.

What I need for this?

I want to solve this with cheapest method.

I will look your suggest.Ebay china shopping link etc...
Thank for your answers :)

You need an rgb input for the Columbus, best options are probably:

OEM kit, requires cutting the boot lid as the tiguan handle is larger than an Octavia. Should be possibly to get everything you need for about £80 from aliexpress.

Aftermarket camera and a converter. No cutting required but the quality may be lower and converters can be expensive. Camera can be had for £15, not sure on rgb converters but I think £40+ normally.

edit:

Couple of links for you. I've not tried the aftermarket version as I modified a Tiguan camera to fit in the aftermarket housing.

Mike, how does yours compare to the OEM camera detailed above?

I have that cheap Ali express boot release camera and the kufatec interface. Works but I don't think the picture is great unlike Mike's . The edges are soft

I want to solve this with cheapest method.

I can understand that but must echo what Mike says about getting what you pay for. I have the same system that he has (or he has mine..) and the quality & reliability can't be faulted.

I've no regrets about paying the extra.

How much needs to be cut from the metal work?  I assume it isn't possible to trim the plastic down instead?

I don't think it's possible to cut the tiguan handle down as it's quite a lot bigger than the O2 handle.

Ed had the following to say a while back: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/271093-question-abaout-rear-view-camera/#entry3217696

Although than can be made to fit, you need to cut a fair bit, from the measurements it is at least 10 mm in the width. The other problem is that the current handle is seated in a recessed groove so if you fit the Tiguan camera it is closer to the front edge.

Here is my cheapo camera, not the quality spoken about above but adequate I'd say.

This is the set up I have on mine, with a perfect picture on the Columbus.

I use a video interface from Kufatec, and a boot release mounted camera from Media Exponent (a company based in Finland, but do mail order)

I notice what you say that you want to do this at minimum cost -- beware of that -- you get what you pay for, with flimsy camera, poor picture and probable unreliable performance. The set up I have described here was not the cheapest, but has been super reliable, and has never once let me down.

Yes,Cheapest method was  wrong word.I mean most efficiently solution.Of  course I don't buy bad camera.

Mike thanks for your picture.

I think oem or other camera are similar quality.

Oem camera and İnterface+standart camera have equal price. That is about 120 $

Kuafec interface looks good, but if I buy a chinese interface(from aliexpress.com),Do I live a problem?Because Car electronics are very sensitive.

And I saw  Red Yellow and green line on Oem camera.İf I buy a normal camera ,Can I see these line?
