Oooh , nice.

The 916/996/998 is very close to being the best looking bike ever , though I'm just the wrong shape entirely to sit on one comfortably.

I do fancy some variety of Monster for my next bike to replace the Hornet , preferably one with offensively loud exhausts

I have a Kawasaki ZRX1200s a sort of naked muscle bike that pins a grin to my face when I can get it out and allows my old bones to ride it with not too much discomfort, and if I wasnt such a computer neanderthal I would be able to post a pic of it!

Had a Piaggio zip 50 in red until it was stolen:finger:

Had this for a couple of years now but hardly ever use it :( , Its done 10,000 miles in 11 years :D .

Nah, thats not a Fazer, the "Scary black thing on the stand" (I may use that from now on ..... is it copyrighted? :D ) is a VOR 530 SME, it's an oddball italian single cylinder, based on an enduro bike. 530cc, and around 56bhp at the wheel. The cunning thing is though that it weighs virtually nothing, around 125 kilo's wet.

VOR is one half of the Vertamati brothers, they had a falling out and one brand stayed as Vertamati, the other became VOR Vertamati off road (iirc). No creature comforts and a seat like a stanley knife but they are fun, they wheelie and stoppie with a whiff of throttle or front brake, and when you drop them, you just kick bit's back into place :-)

You want to hear my Speed Triple with the removable baffles errrm, removed then, it really is addictive, a kind of straight 6 growl at low revs and a screaming wailing banshee at anything over 7k

Lot's of good deals to be had on 955i speed triples as people are trading in for the 1050's and most are well looked after with the triumph after market catalogue thrown at them.

I am organising a Dyno day in Spring up in the Northwest for the VTR list (Briskoda for Firestorms), I am going to invite the guys on T595 as well, how about any Brisky Bikers tagging along?

There will be a BBQ on and the chance to pick the brains of Roger Ditchfield, Honda Guru, BSB Racebike Suspension Guru, Tuning Guru and all round guru type chap. He has been prepping top flight race bikes 500's, BSB, WSB, Endurance for over 35 years. It's always a good day out. Power runs are around

I feel really stupid now. I have been on the back of a Fazer (Weeeee:orb_sledi ) so I should have realised ‘the Scary Black Thing’ wasn’t one. Oh it's not copywrited. I’m better at noises than appearances, just love that Twin Desmo rock. :orb_danci I was once working at Donnington when the Norton racing bikes were still racing and I thought at the time they made just about the best noise ever, sort of a mix between a twin and a revvy 4 cylinder. Think bikers are all a little bit bonkers:orb_xmas_ but in a nice way :moped:

And that's mine.

My Monster has the Arrow cans (which have a removable baffle in the garage ;) ), make a lovely noise, hopefully get rid of the catalyst by summer to free up a couple more db :D

If you do go for a Monster I'd recomend a S2r or S4r as they have better ground clearance than the other models, the new S2r 1000cc is lovely, loads of v twin torque but a bit less money when it comes to servicing than the S4r as it's a 2 valve air cooled rather than the 4 valve water cooled.

Nave a look here for all things Monster www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/ or here www.ducatimonster.org/smf/index.php

Problem with almost all Duc's is they just arent big enough for a heavey weight like me, the fazer is about right but id be more comfortable on something like the thou.

boy in here has a yellow monster 6 with the ace bars and bar end mirrors looks great but just too wee, and being the 6 has no go in the engine.

Agreed on the dukes DOBW, they are on the small side for a 6' 17stoner like myself. I used to have a 900SS years ago that was fun, servicing was bloody expensive, puts the skoda in a whole new light and it used to have an appetite for shearing cylinder head bolts on cold mornings, which was nice.

I had a 900 Monster for about 6 months in germany but could not get on with it round town and chopped it in for a 1100 gs beemer which was outstanding.

Darren Is it still £400+ for a belt service on the 996 btw?

Best bike I have had though was my old RSV Mille priller, a 2000.5 model in blue, never missed a beat, torquey, fast, and comfie for someone my size.

Current speed trip is running it close though, great torque / power and tank like build quality, and of course nice an roomy :D

Fluff

Hi Fluff,

A big service + belt change can be £400+ which can get quite dear when you have two of them :o

A Ducati to suit the taller person :D
