GB Reg Plate

Featured Replies

Do these come as standard or dependent on the dealer!?

I had to ask the dealer to get them. I don't think they're standard.

Might not need them after the referendum!

My dealers fits "Euro" plates as standard, I've never had to ask for them to be fitted.

I'll ask, thanks!

Some of the photos on here that show reg don't have them (personalised excl.). I guess price difference is minimal in any case.

Since they are all printed nowadays there is rarely a difference in price, however as they are not a requirement it is purely down to dealer preference.

Mine came with them but I also have them on my private plates.

Euro plates are required in Europe....or carry a GB sticker on cars without euro plates.

GB is also a Maidstone regested car

No Mr Bond, I want you to die!!!

Sorry, couldn't resist that.

Close... they are only required once you leave the country the car is registered in, so for example if you do not intend to drive it outside the UK you do not need them.

Personally I think they look better with them, others prefer them without.

Piglet came with plane non-Euro plates (as did the last car from the same dealership). I don't like Euro plates and would rather fit a magnettic GB badge if going into Europe.

I am considering fitting metal plates (yes I know the legal issues and legal requirements and they do conform to all regs).

I had a set of euro metal plates on my last car, they are best stuck on though I think.

I moved onto metal plates about 3 or 4 years ago after having a couple of sets of acrylic ones where the reg started to fade, got them on both the Yeti and the Superb now (both UK legal font / material)

All plates are best stuck on IMO, irrespective of the material they are made from.

Forgot to say the metal ones are better in the number plate holders (Briskoda ones in my case)

Just ordered a set of pressed plates and a pair of 'Skoda' licence plate surrounds.

That's exactly how I had mine :)

I missed the word driving in Europe :)
