MY12 nsf light failure

Featured Replies

My 2.0 TSI Superb Combi L&K suffered a headlight failure last week. Car has done 18500 miles only and has an extended warranty.

Ridgeway Skoda (who supplied the car new to me) have suggested that a replacement unit would be £278 plus labour. They also mentioned the units are designed to last for 10 years, so failing after 3 seems a bit odd? Car was booked in and spent a day in the workshop but they did not change the unit as they think there is an issue with the loom or connections as the light started working again (it has failed again now).

I have booked the car back in and the work shop think they need 2 days to diagnose the problem and fix it. I have smiled and mentioned the fact that I am hoping Skoda will sort it all under warranty. Ridgeway have been careful not to comment either way and have suggested that the unit may have been knocked at low speed without my knowledge, leading to water ingress.

Looking at the board I can see a number of other folk have had hl probs. Am I silly to hope for a warranty repair?

Thanks

Except perhaps the lamp all the rest would be covered under your extended warranty. My five year warranty is up in April 2017 so I would expect it to be covered.

Thanks Danny, I certainly hope so. Will see how I get on next week when the car goes back in).
