Sunset glass

blocking out sun? kids will be in the back and thinking of sunny days and weather it's worth getting the retractable door blinds or not!

I really like it, dark enough to keep things cool but not too dark for night driving

Hi,

We have it on our Skoda Scout ( 08 ) we find with the granchildren in the back no further shading is required. Regarding blinds -- perhaps they would make good "toys" for bored children.......................

I didn't think it was dark enough for the Combi so got a Specialist to do my glass instead, I went with a 'Medium' Tint & it came in cheaper than what Skoda were charging. No issues with visibility at night or on dull days with the tint The kids have tablets mounted on the headrests so wanted a bit of security so that anyone passing wouldn't be able to spot them. Each to their own I suppose...

Its great for anything except direct sunlight. We need a shade for the little guy in this circumstances.

Had it on the S2 and the same on the S3.

Actually it's quite strange - doesn't look that dark from the interior but from external it is.

Here it is on both my Superbs, obviously it's more pronounced on the white S2.

I have Sunset Glass fitted as standard on my MKII Octy Scout. I also have a combination of Skoda OEM and aftermarket shades.

The shades come in handy when driving at Low speeds and I have the rear windows down as they stop insects and debris (amazing the number of people who think it is acceptable to chuck stuff from vehicles) entering the vehicle.

The rear screen aftermarket shade came in two sections which I didn't like, so didn't fit. However, I soon changed my mind when my rear screen shattered causing shards of glass to fly around the interior of the vehicle. Fortunately my dog was not in the car at that time. As a consequence of that incident, I fitted the Skoda OEM one piece rear screen.

I have a similar sunset glass on my C4 grand picasso and internal blinds. I have only used the binds a handful of times in the 5-6 years of owning the car but I warn you little ones love to mess with them, this can get annoying when your driving on the motorway and my two year old starts pulling them out and letting go so they slam back into the door  :wall:  :D hence why I only added the glass to my new VRS

How about part exchanging them for someone who doesn’t have them, this will solve your problem.

I will let you decide if I am referring to the blinds or your 2 year old  :D

I order the blinds for my S3 (sunset glass as std as well) but have yet to use them.

On our present S2 we are more than satisfied. You really have to be looking in up close to see things that might have been accidently left on the seat or on the floor. Sitting in the rear it has been more than acceptable on sunny days. We have chosen to go with it on our ordered S3.

Got the glass and blinds. Definitely worth it in my opinion.

I got the blinds for free. Haven't actually used them apart from when I collected the car at the dealership I pulled one down and said "I didn't order those"
