Can anyone help, My missus changed her phone to a Sony Experia M4 Aqua & I can't get her contact pictures to appear on the screen in both my Superb & her Octavia. Phone paired up to the radio units no problem. Any ideas???

How is your Bluetooth volume during calls?

IIRC There is an option that needs ticking to import them. The are appearing from my HTC One (M8) on my Columbus unit.

I did have to allow a lot of things on the phone though when I first connected. Had about 4-5 popup messages. 

It's a stock M8 running Android 6 (Marshmallow).

OK.

 

MirrorLink allows you to mirror the display of your smartphone, both Android and iPhone supported, to your Columbus (Amundsen?) head unit.

 

Hook up your phone to the usb port next to the gear lever and then follow the prompts on both the phone and head unit display. YOu'll eventually be seeing your phone 'mirrored' on the in car display!

 

Read the glovebox manual for more info, I didn't really do it justice!!

 

I had YouTube, GoogleMaps, Waze and just about all apps I threw at it working through the head unit display today.

 

You've also got AndroidAuto, but I didn't find it as good.

I kind of have the same problem with a xperia z2. Only contacts with self selected pictures will show. Those linked up to facebookprofiles will not show contactpictures.

Where on the phone is the option do you know? (it's an Android device) Have no issues with my Samsung or her previous Experia T showing Contact photos on both car radios

Tried everything & still no luck, put in a new contact saved to 'Device only' & still wouldn't work, i've gone through all the settings & can't see any option & the 'show contact pics' option on the Columbus unit is ticked. It's doing my nut!!!!

Try taking a pic with your ohone and then setting it as the contact pic for someone in your phone book. See if that method works.

 

I'll double check mine to see if any FB pics are coming through. I suppose it could be the way the phone saves the contact pics... live connection vs. saving locally.

iPhones do not support contact picture. It is a special bluetooth thing what has to be supported and iphone doesnt. because of the security reasons.

Try taking a pic with your ohone and then setting it as the contact pic for someone in your phone book. See if that method works.

My LG G3 works fine on my headunit and the MRS MY16 Rapid Spaceback with no additional changes, just paired the phone.

 

What firmware is the  M4 Aqua running?

I've just bought a Huawei p20 pro. Synced my contacts via bluetooth no problem but there are no contacts in the contact boxes only in the list of contacts. A real pain as I can't quickly scan through the boxes for my contact image and most called. Called Skoda to find that the Columbus head unit doesn't support the p20 pro. I asked if the head would receive an update at next service? Reply "they don't think that's possible". 

It's a 2017 Superb Sportline and the phone is only 2018. Any ideas please? Thank you

I couln't get what you mean by "contact box"? - Is it Favorites? You must to setup them manually in Skoda Infosystem, and you should see pictures of contacts. Also, huawei phones (at least P10) is supported for contact pictures showing on Infosystem By Superbs from 2016 - as you can check in above provided link. So it should work for you. I have no problems with admunsen and Samsung S6 also OnePlus 6.

 

 

Hi, yes the favourite boxes. I've added the favourites, it's just that the contact images are not syncing across as they used to with my iphone. It's no real big deal but looking on the Skoda Columbus compatibility it doesn't support the p20 pro so that's probably why. Thanks for your reply.

Interesting, because mine shows contact pictures on iPhone 8

No my point was that when I had my iphone se the contact pictures synced across. Now that I have a Huawei p20 pro they do not. It's because the phone must be too new for the Columbus and it isn't supported by the Columbus according to the Skoda compatibility checker. 

Can't get profile pictures to show on the contacts screen but they are shown when somebody calls me (iPhone SE)

That's even more bizarre! 

On mu Columbus at first all contact pictures were shown (Iphone 8plus) and suddenly in some months some of the pictures disappeared and some stayed. It is interesting to say that from time to time my some of my contact pictures on the Iphone 8 plus disappear just like this. So I suppose my problem comes from iOs but not from the Columbus unit.
