Revo Air Intake System

Featured Replies

Has anyone fitted the above mod to a MK3 VRS?

if so did you notice any increase in HP, as well a better engine tone?

thanks.

It's more of a supporting mod, you're not really going to see a noticeable power increase just from an air filter on a vRS

Would you say its not worth it by its self? in time i would look to put a stage 1 map on.

Not especially, it'll make the car sound a bit more throaty, but with breathing mods you generally have to do both filter and exhaust to get the best out of it. If you're looking to go stage 1, I'd save your money and just opt for a K&N panel filter.

Edited by vtec to vrs!

I really like the look of it and it will no doubt improve the sound track of the intake.

I'm looking at going REVO stage 1 to start, then adding on intake after.

REVO said that the 2015> ECU security was now their highest priority.

As above, once REVO break the ECU security. Only real gains once you go to stage 2/3. (3 if you are slightly mad in the head)

Can it affect the warranty somehow?

Do you know of any other option/s (rather something cost-effective ;) to safely improve the intake & sound of it? Throaty noises are the music ;)

The K&N is not the preferred choice I bet; from what I've heard, the filtration level is lower than stock, oiled filters require maintenance and performance may be inconsistent.

Every mod effects your warranty. As does anything used that's not Skoda approved.

However saying that, if you was to switch it back to the standard airbox most dealers will be none the wiser.

There is plenty of options, panel filter is the cheapest. If I'm to be honest there is little to none induction difference, depending on the engine.

Induction kits are many too, ranging in budget from 150 to 1000 (I jest not).

If you read the Internet then many will say they are a waste of money, where as others will say there are the best thing since sliced bread.

One option that's on my list is VWRacing R600, very OEM looking but is meant to give a good result.

Revo also has a cold feed upgrade (using panel filter and standard airbox), if you again wanted a OEM look.

Depends on what you want.

The APR system may interest you, £410 and looks amazing

Thanks.

I'll keep an eye on this type of intake solution; looks intimidating ;)

in general, I don't care about carbon/carbon look, only the flow, so maybe a more optimal solution would come up. In general I must check if the filter is not worse than stock (no oiled elements!) and if the aftermarket housing provides same level of safety / integrity - e.g. prevents snow ingress.
