Any recommendations for Seat Covers ?

Recommended Posts

I've just taken delivery of an Estate and thought that a quick google search would uncover lots of seat cover options, but it wasn't the case.

I'm looking more for function over form as I have two young children.

Thanks!.

Not sure if they do them for the S3, but I have these fitted to my MKII Octy Scout and am pretty impressed with them. I've taken the front covers to a seamstress who has installed two zips at the rear thus giving access to the rear pocket, and a slit at the back so that I can use my Skoda coat hanger via headrest poles;

Hi

I can thoroughly recommend this company

http://www.carseatcoversonline.co.uk

I have a set of heavy duty black waterproof from them for fronts only as did not need rear cover, bought about a month ago and they are great. I had issues finding covers wide enough for the wing bits on my seats as it makes them wider and most standard covers won't fit :(

These were about £40 for the 2 fronts and a full set is about £69 excellent quality cordura type material and allow for airbags.

They show variuos car manufactures but the heavy duty waterproof ones are universal fit for all high back seats etc

Fronts:

I'm interested in any answers to this thread too. Hoping to take delivery of a Superb estate on Friday, and having recently had to clean up a borrowed car after a trip a bit too soon after the boys' breakfast I thought, "I don't want to have to be doing this in the new car".

Hunted around a bit, and probably not for everyone, but I went with these:-

My thinking was that one could be more easily replaced than the double width options (and the other could then be substituted for it in an emergency).

I'm just hoping that when they there's a satisfactory means to tie them down

It's worth a read of the below and a double-check if you are going to be using child car seats with any kind of seat protector.

Thanks - that's interesting reading. Our seats both have isofix bases and footwell bracing legs. The reason I went with the cheap covers above is so I can cut them if necessary to fit around the isofix anchor points. I'm fairly confident that this will ensure they're safe.

I'd not considered the added risk you highlighted though - so many thanks.

Thankfully my little destructors aren't pukers. I couldn't be doing with spending 25K of my hard earned money on a gorgeous new car then making it look like a Bangalore taxi inside :)

The little parasites are the reason I was so insistent on full leather instead of the alcantara. Leather can be wiped and rejuvenated pretty easily. If I could just stop them touching any of the other interior bits that would be good...

I  would not mind to get a base cover for the rear seats for when we go on our roadtrips.. Something i can remove in seconds to give it a shake to get rid of the chewed sweets and crisps etc just to protect the seat on these long trips.

(got 1200 miles min planned next month)

Maybe something like - http://www.amazon.co.uk/XtremeAuto%C2%AE-Water-Resistant-Cover-vehicles/dp/B01DDOFVEY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1459864661&sr=8-5&keywords=seat+cover+skoda+superb+rear

I looked at that double seat width style and dismissed it from my options because I thought it would be too much hassle fitting seats (and cutting holes in the cover), but if you did go for that style, I thought this one looked like better quality fabric...

IMy view (which is probably only shared by me!) was also that while these things can never look good, it looks better if they resemble a flat peice of fabric laid over the seats as opposed to something that is badly fitted.

In that format, it could also serve as a groundsheet if need be.

YMMV

Yeah.. for me though im wanting just something on the base of the seat to catch bits which i can shake out.

May just make do with a thin blanket which i already have!

For the price of a seat cover, a real solution here etc. good for dogs, children and smaller teenagers.

I'm about to purchase sets for a couple of cars from here. Many 'covers' I've seen don't cover the seats - some look very nice though. And of course if you have a four legged moulter, then carpets etc. are still very vulnerable.
