How to identify an S2000 and what are they worth

Featured Replies

Hi guys I'm new on here, I'm sure this may have come up before but just wondering if anyone can confirm how to identify an S2000 model vrs?

From what I've read/know the were all green, had white roofs/wheels and had the decal kit on the sides-bonnet and lower front bumper. I believe there were only 20 made and were all 2011 plates.

My questions are

#1 is it identified on the logbook as S2000 or do all vrs fabias state this?

#2 if only 20 were made does that make them worth anymore?

From what I understand most of the S2000 had there decals removed but if one had all the decals in place would that make it more desireAble?

Thanx guys

Welcome to the forum.

Not more desirable but sellers often say they are.

There were many more than 20.

Posts on here on S2000's back a couple of years ago.

There is an Arm rest as standard and a few other things that were options on other mk2 vRS.

As it is there were only around 1,800 CAVE engine vRS from 2010-2012,

and now still under 2,900. That is in the UK.

(ones getting written off quite a bit now so the numbers are reducing, a few Green ones recently so some were maybe s2000's)

This was nice, but with no more power.

Re your car.

Has it been in for the Service Campaign on the DSG if Required.

The Oil is changed from Synthetic to Mineral and a Software update is done on the DSG. Done free.

(I know someone with a s2000 and theirs was in to have it done.)

There should be a sticker in the spare tyre well showing if it was done.

Put near the VIN Sticker,  it has *34F7* on it.

You can check here if any outstanding Service Campaign work.

Or call Skoda UK Customer Services or a Skoda Dealer and check.

I did some research on the car before I bought it and yes it's had the dsg done and full skoda history.

The car no longer has the stickers on but there are some bits left where the fog surrounds are and you can see a very faint line up the bonnet where the sticker has been.

Very clean car, I've been and viewed 7cars and some with silly low mileage, (spent weekends driving up and down the country) but were very happy with this one.

I have a customer who owns a wrap firm and had concidered having the stickers back on for when I come to sell it but wasn't sure if it would be of any benifit?

Since there are no mechanical or physical differences other than the stickers then they are worth no more than any other green VRS unless the stickers are still on. Just like the mk 1 Octavia VRS WRC.

There is nothing on the log book to indicate its an s2000

Armrest not standard either (mine never had it)

You may get a little more if you p/ex one at a dealer as they will likely want it

As for putting the stickers back on.....think long and care fully first

People will stare.By that I mean every one

Drive past a guy walking a dog and even the dog will look

If your OK with that then fair enough.I left mine intact the whole 2 year and enjoyed every minute. :)

Oh and welcome to the forum!

The previous owner took most of the stickers off, leaving just the one on the front spoiler; Mrs T (for it is her car) likes it like that.

And he ticked just about every option available on the list! :-)

I wrongly thought then that you could not get options on a S2000 (vRS) other than Dealer Fit.

But they all came specced up.

But that some dealers made up 'Look a Likey' S2000 starting with a Green vRS, adding the White Roof / wheels and decals

and these were possibly not so specced up.

If you're ever in Scotland places like Larkhall, Kilwinning and Harthill are probably best avoided ;) .

I doubt a dealer would bother making up an S2000 from a standard vRS; the decals are stupidly expensive!

Ours has sat nav, climate control, cruise and heated seats that I believe were not standard on either the vRS or the S2000, although I am happy to be corrected.

Dealers did have them made up with decals i have no doubt on that.

They were about at various locations.

Decals that copied the Manufacturers were not as expensive,

and funnily a Dealership gets trade price buying the Originals.

Plus the white roof and wheels and any profit margin has surely disappeared?

I quite like that.

Do not worry about profit margins for Dealerships getting a Demonstrator / Promotional vehicle at a discounted price and with the tax benefit of keeping it 3 months / 3,000 miles.  Having it in the local rag, on the forecourt, and launches and then selling it with as much of a profit if not more than other vehicles they sell.

(Strip off the decals and what you are selling is a Green vRS with White Gigaro unless you change the wheels or just the colour.)

PS.

Look a likeys had Wrapped White Roofs.

I've noticed lately there are a few 'S2000'on eBay and Autotrader; some are not even green!

What you notice is advertisers wrongly advertising vRS as a S2000 because they are dealers that know no better.

(As many have for over 2 years now.)

That is not the same as actually selling a S2000 which is not Green.

Well I don't think we will bother with putting stickers back on, not bothered about being looked at, the wife's last car had candy purple wheels, I think we're going to make our own spec up instead, thinking grey roof, wheels, mirrors, grill top and lower centre bumper

Good Idea.  Have fun.
