Buying advice for dash cam

Featured Replies

Hi there

Thinking of buying a dash cam and I wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

I want good quality and the cam must have a motion sensor to record any movement (carpark damage etc)

There have been a few threads on this, think there is one in the Octy 2 forum

And the Octy 3 pages.

Just bought 2 nextbase dash cams from Halfords today, one for me and one for the missus (instead of Easter eggs :D)

Went for them as they have Wi-Fi so you can watch the files on your phone and live view etc. plus GPS with speed sensors to show where you were/how fast you were travelling should the worst happen

Has the motion sensor like you require as well

Very impressed, and the software is great

Happy with the purchase :)

I have the Nextbase 402g. The video is good, setup easy although make sure the battery is fully charged and it's not too conspicuous.

The motion sensor for when parked up needs to be better as its too sensitive to have it switched on whilst driving (keeps saving video as if you've had an accident) and doesn't automatically activate when stationery.

I have the Nextbase 302g and find the picture quality excellent.
