Porsche Cayenne Big Brake upgrade mounting

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm a newbie from down in Australia.  Sorry if this has been covered previously, but I done a few searches and can't find specifics.

I bought my first Skoda (Octavia RS petrol wagon) just before Christmas and have some mods planned.  I've just fitted a Miltek cat back non resonated exhaust and soon will book in for an APR Stage 1 tune.

Recently I bought a Porsche Cayenne Brembo 6 piston upgrade kit.  The add says it will fit Golf MK 5/6/7 and Audi A3.  Which I believe is the same platform as the Octavia.  The kit comes with mounting hardware, stainless steel brake lines to convert from Porsche to VW and hubcentric ring for the Mercedes GL 350mm rotor.

I went to do a trial fit yesterday.  I found that the caliper mounting lugs on my wheel bearing housing (cast aluminium) are look quite a bit thicker than the ones photographed in the ad.  This means, that although the holes line up, the bolts are not long enough and the offset of the caliper is way out (too far inboard the car) and the centre does not line up with the new rotor.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me identify the hub that is photographed in the ad and whether is something I can change on my car so that the calipers will bolt up.

I've been tearing my hair out and laying awake at night trying to work out how I can make this work, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't work out how to add photos (any hints?), so here is the link to the eBay listing which shows the photos of the caliper bolted to the hub.

Hmm, sorry, not much help but I was under the impression that it was the 4 pot rears from a 996/boxster that the vdub guys used. This is what I have for the rears on my m5, and my knowledge is based on reading incidental to that. I would have thought that clearance on the 6 pots might be an issue, as cayenne 6 pots aren't small. And I would also expect to have to use some kind of bracket. Plug and play sounds optimistic to me.

But none of this is knowledge based on actual experience! Mostly hunches!

Good luck and hopefully someone with some real knowledge will be along shortly...

Try the golf 7 forums, they are a bit ahead of the skoda owners on the mod front
