Very nice and well done on your new purchase. Love my diesel estate. Still smiling six months and 7,000 miles after picking it up. :-))

Snap just like Mrs Ubbs! although hers has the leather and heated seats;) I thought the same regarding the ride and 19s not to bad at all the colours grown her too after seeing an r8 v10 on her way to work in the same shade of grey

Enjoy:)

By far the best colour for the Octavia, all others soooooooooooo boring!

Smartlink is dealer only I'm afriad, requires a code. I thought the VRS came with sat nav as standard? Are you saying that there is no sat nav button or does it say "insert media" or something similar when you go to the nav?

Sounds like a shoddy dealer, I'm not a fan of full leather but if the car wasn't as described and something I wanted was missing I probably would have walked. Heated seats is an absolute deal breaker for me!! Anyway, hope you got a good discount for that mess!

Nice mate. Looks good. Enjoy the ride.

If you have the 'Nav' button can't a local dealer just upload the software to allow this option to work - if that's what was advertised then ask for dealer to authorise for it to be installed?

Unless of course, you got a good enough discount.

If the nav option is there he will need the SD card with the map data on it that SHOULD have come with the car. My dealer forgot to order mine so had to go back for it a few days later, I checked a 230 they had in the showroom and it was missing it's card too. Given the story of the particular dealer in this thread it wouldn't be hatch to imagine their sloppiness has extended to this too.

There's no NAV button on head unit at all. I too thought it was a standard feature hence me not asking/confirming at all. So my own fault I guess. Now I'm a little more educated I can see there is no shark fin which I believe is part of the GPS unit for SATNAV. Certainly won't be paying to have a different system put in it and don't think it's upgradeable.

Down left hand side of unit is: Radio, Media, Phone, Voice.

Down right hand side of unit is: Setup, Sound, Car, Menu.

That or seats wasn't a deal breaker really. Mrs had her head (and heart) set on that colour, which looks awesome in the flesh. Found this, pre-reg 65 with under 12 miles, for a price too good to turn down.

Going to give my 3 local dealers a call tomorrow to enquire as to how much they charge for SmartLink. Cheapest wins the job!

What phone are you going to use with smart link? If it's an iPhone you can't use google maps, so will be stuck with Apple maps it gets the job done when in need!

We're all Android now. LG g3 for me. Z4 for Mrs.

I'd ask the dealer to throw in smartlink for free, cost £150 for the code. I love the colour, I went for the quartz grey but everytime I see the meteor grey I really like it

No nothing about your dealer, but would say that very few would put the SD cards in the showroom models just in case they get liberated. :-/

Maybe I didn't word that right lol. I meant that if the idiots mentioned I. The op got the spec wrong I'm sure they could have forgotten the card.

Anyway, I was under the impression a VRS came with Amundsen and therefore sat nav as standard. What am I missing here? Is this a tsi vs tdi thing??

I thought it was standard too. There's no mention of it you being able to spec up a vRS without it on the Skoda website.

I dont know the exact dates when it changed but when I was initially looking at purchasing a vRS (Nov 15), it didnt come as standard with SatNav.

It was only just before Christmas that I was informed the base price was going up but that it would include SatNav.

I believe this was for all cars built in 2016.

Please dont quote me on the exact specifics but I believe this is the case, which may unfortunately mean that pcscorchio's car was built prior to this alteration as it is a 65 plate.

Sorry buddy, I hope you can sort something out.  No harm in asking the dealer to throw in SmartLink due to miss selling you a car with SatNav.

Lovely car. Looking forward to getting some shots of it!

Nice car, loving the wheels!

I too find it strange that it hasn't got sat-nav, I don't use mine very often but its nice for it to be there for if the occasion arises.

Just to add further insult to injury if his car was built before the changes came into effect then he won't be able to have smartlink as that was only available after the changes too with the new head units.

My vrs came with sat nav prior to the changes when skoda were giving them away free.

It has the SmartLink option on the screen. Touch it and, at the moment, it says contact dealer.

Really odd that it has Smart Link but no Sat Nav? My dealer charged £120 inc VAT to activate SmartLink, took about an hour for them to do it.

Not really odd at all. All MIB2 Bolero units have the Smartlink page, but it just says 'contact dealer' if its not been activated.

This car is just an older model with no sat Nav standard, probably built mid last year, pre reg 1st September.

As the OP says, the price would have reflected this.

MY16 cars (ie cars built from May 2015 onwards) all have the second generation MIB2 units allowing Smartlink activation through upgrade, initially available only as factory order but now also available post manufacture through dealer. The standard unit on the vRS up until November 2015 orders was the Bolero MIB2, therefore no Sat nav, but smartlink functionality. From November onwards (MY16.5), the price of the standard vRS increased slightly but the Amundsen Sat nav unit became the standard unit.

meteor + black pack is a great scheme.  :)

As Corrida15 says, Amundsen became standard on the VRS from November 2015. I got lucky and ordered on 22nd October - got Amundsen included before the price increased. Dealer said that there is usually about a 2 week window before price/spec increases where you get the new spec for the old prices!

I ordered my vrs in March 2015 and got the amundsen sat nav thrown in for free courtesy of skoda.

Salesman said they were giving them away to get rid of stock to make way for new head units.

This is why I'm surprised that the OP does not have SatNav with a newer car.
