  • Give him a week mate, then it's yours   Another nice car Simon, which I'm sure will be even better when you've worked your magic on it!   Enjoy

  • Thanks guys, Maybe an M135i will be on the cards one day. More than happy with another Edition 30 though! Hopefully get a thread up at the weekend, I still have the Civic so the Golf is sat on axle

  • 2 x coats of Collinites Wax My old favourite!

The headlight restoration really interests me, I am guessing the headlights weren't very scratched? They have come up really well sir!

Thank you!

Mainly they had discoloured and gone Yellow which is just due to Sun damage over the Years, Common with plastic lenses....Toyota Yaris's are shocking for it! I have seen some Fabia's too that have done the same.

They did have some minor surface scratches too which don't help, They are quite soft and mark easily. The surface also gets hot really quickly when you go near them with the D/A so you have to be careful. Only took me 15 Mins per side and it has transformed them.

It really has done, I have been doing the headlights from my E39 and they took a lot more work using wet and dry etc. I will have to invest in some of the hex logic pads though they look like they work really well the DA polisher. Have you put another UV wax onto the lights to stop them going cloudy?

You know me too well!

Thanks Damo, Its not bad at all for a 12 Year old car! Just ordered a Service Kit and some Iridium plugs so will be doing that later this week

Yeah for sure mate.

Looks fantastic :)

Liking this a lot.

How sweet does that VTEC sound at 8k approaching the rev limiter?

Hard to explain really, With the standard airbox set up its very civilised sounding. It is a very smooth Crossover on these K20A engines unlike the earlier B18's I am used to found in the Integras.

Certainly pulls well enough once up there though :) It is addictive!

Well so far so good, A week and 200 miles into ownership!

The car is well suited to my commute and I have 3 routes to choose from going to and from Barnsley Railway Station each of which allow for a bit of B-Road twisty fun, I really thought I would be missing the Golf R but I am not at all and I am enjoying having a light-ish weight N/A Hot Hatch which requires plenty of driver input to get the best of out it.

Decided to give the Civic a Major Service yesterday, Sourced all the parts last weekend but as I am now on 9-5 Mon-Fri I waited until Saturday to crack on with it.

It last had a Service in July 2015 about 3000 Miles ago, The Oil looked very clean but I wanted to replace the other filters and Spark plugs so just did the lot for piece of mind.

Nice early start yesterday and did the following...

5W40 Fully Synthetic Mobil 1 Super 3000 (Car has been ran on Mobil 1 all its life)

Blue Print Oil Filter

Blue Print Air Filter

Blue Print Cabin Filters x 2

NGK IFR7G-11KS Iridium Spark Plugs (Chuffing expensive)

Also removed an deep cleaned the Airbox and made a Minor Adjustment to the Throttle Cable.

Service kit, Decided not to use Genuine Filters but went for Blue Print ones. The car is now 12 Years old and to be honest although the car has been Honda serviced all its life IMO the Blue Print Filters are of OEM quality anyway for a fraction of the cost...

Removed Plugs, The actual official interval on these is 75000 Miles according to Honda which will explain why they are £15 per plug. My car has covered 60100 to be precise and had these plugs fitted about 5-6 Years ago so was ready for set without a doubt...

Small amount of anti-seizure compound applied to threads before fitting...

Old Air Filter again was ready for changing, Also gave the AIr-Box a thorough clean before fitting the new Filter...

Cabin Filters, Past their best...

Cracking progress already, as I'd fully expect by now :D

Do like them in silver as well - a very nice option and sounds perfectly suited for what you need it to do

Saw a cracking condition Black one in London on the weekend. Think it was on an 03 plate.

Very nice!

Brings back memories, it was my first hot hatch.

Great performance for not much costs.

You need to get it K'PRO'D

You need to get it K'PRO'D

What is "K'PRO'D" - and why does it need doing twice? ;)

You need to get it K'PRO'D

No thanks, Not interested in spending a fortune on tuning a Naturally Aspirated engine for such a small gain  Its a runabout temp car.

KPRO Ecu which is fully mappable :)

If you decide to sell it Bonelorry let me know! V v lovely example...hard to find an honest one nowadays.

3 weeks and 500 Miles into ownership, The Civics great and I am really glad I made the decision to sell the Golf and go down this route as for now with my current work//commute situation it is currently ticking all the right boxes!

I gave the Civic a Mini-Detail when I first got the car home 3 weeks ago including De-tarring and Claying but have not really done much else with it Detailing wise, Decided to give it a bit of a pampering today and probably for the first time in its 12 Year old life it had a Machine Polish.

Usual wash process so I wont list the full details, Opted for a Single Stage with the D/A using Meguiars 205 Polish and a White hex pad which usually on the VW paint is used for the finishing/refining Stage but worked well on the Honda's paint for Minor Correction.

Couple of snaps from yesterdays efforts, As mentioned I opted to do a Single Stage and used Megs 205/White Hex pad combo on the DAS6-Pro D/A. Collinites no845 for protection and finished with Sonax Turbo Detailer...

Reflection shot, Not bad for a Silver car. Came up well, Not defect free and still the odd mark here and there but for a 12 Year old car thats never had any paint...

I've reading this thread from beginning and I have to confess that despite the fact that I'm not a big Honda fan, I must admit that you have done really great job with this Honda! Nice!
