Its finally fixed!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Sorry couldnt find my original post this has been going on for so long...

I had an engine rebuild 2-3 years aho and ever since the car has been kangarooing, losing power, smoking, stalling, surging, not starting etc etc etc.

Anyway, 3 weeks ago on my way to pick my dear mummy up to take her to Heathrow it died completely and its been sitting in a garage ever since. The mechanic has an auto electrician look at the car after discussing errors on VCDS and other minor bugs and we decided it was electrical. Something I have been saying since day 1. Anyway, after replacing the front loom by the oil fiter its finally fixed aparrently. James, my mechanic, says its a totally different car. I will pick it up later and report back.

I just thought I would let everone know.

That's always a relief when it's fixed!

Great news!! Fingers crossed it is finally sorted. I've found in the past when faults of that nature crop up on cars, when the cause is finally found the cars are running absolutely great as eeverything else has been changed trying to find it. My old mk1 vrs suffered with a terrible gear change for a long time. After I'd fitted new bushes in the gear lever, new dog bone, various alignments, fresh gear oil, only when i fitted a new slave cylinder was it sorted. In the end, that change was the nicest I've ever had in a car!!

Thanks guys.

Yes I have driven it  alot now, it does feel a lot better. Though aparrently the ECU has been damaged a little with the wires touching each other so I have been advised to get a new one in due course. Its not broken as such, just poorly. I will look into this in due course.... but for now, happy days!!!!
