High level brake light failure

Featured Replies

most of the high level brake light has failed - the dealer / customer dis- services say its not a warranty item? any comments ? anyone else had this problem?

needless to say - i'm not impressed

It's a fairly common problem on Fabias of course, but I'm surprised they're being so unhelpful about yours on the Octy. I could see why they wouldn't class headlight bulbs etc. as warranty items, but the LEDs in the third brake light should be pretty much indestructible if I recall my GCSE electronics correctly. In which case, I'd reckon you do have a valid warranty claim...

LED only really break if you apply too much voltage to them. I don't have a warranty, but they might just class them as lights, and therfore a consumable...

my thoughts exactly -- I've now heard that the damage is due to " water ingress" ( why cant they say the bloody things leak?)

and we are awaiting words from cust services - in the new year.

interesting thought though - wonder if the water got in from jetwashing it .......who jet washes it ?....... the dealers:D

Hi Guys/Gals

Just had mine done under warranty on my Vrs Estate, it was also bonded in too.

Any one in the North West/Bolton area go to Parkside Motors, these people are really helpful and really do try and help you out.

looks like a standard problem for VRS estates as I had mine done about 12 months ago. it has now got condensation in it again so it will be going back.

how many other vrs estate owners are having the same problem?

On the hatch I don't think they are LED, but standard bulbs.
