Got a spanner and "INSP" flashing on my dash.anyone tell what this indicates?thanks in advance

Your car has decided it's time (or enough miles have been driven) for it to deserve a service.

So is it the oil,filter and plugs I change then?will spanner and flashing "INSP" go off if I do this?

The service light will go out when it's cleared. Nothing physically had to be done to service the car, it's just a reminder.

Do you have the service record book? That should tell you which items to do on each type of service. It's more checks than just when it says OIL, but I don't remember exactly.

It tells what both services involve in the service book. It should also tell you when the last Oil or Inspection one was done. Should be done Every year or 10,000 miles alternating between them each one.

 

If it's on by mistake or you want to service it yourself, it's easy to reset. Have a look in the owners manual it tells you how to do it. It involves holding down the trip reset and turning on the ignition.

hold the trip reset button, turn on the ignition wait 10 seconds or so (keeping it held) start the car, cleared. Something like that as I recall.
