N/S mirror in reverse lost the plot ?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Can you help me, used to have mirror set for reversing but not used for a while as switch as been on heated.

Switched it back to the left and all it does is move in slightly then goes back when I take keys out or drive off.

I've tried resetting but it still doesn't work and ends up moving just the same as mentioned above, I've had it working a couple of times but don't know what I've done really then it just looses it self again.

I know some put it on here once how to set them as if I can remember right I think the book is wrong but that may just be me but I can't find the thread

Can anyone help ???

Cheers

Think I do the following (I lose the current setting if I fool with new settings for the seat memory buttons):

  1. Turn the ignition on
  2. Turn the mirror control to the passenger side mirror
  3. Put the car in reverse
  4. Adjust the mirror to where I wanted it
  5. Take it out of reverse
  6. Drive forward to check the mirror goes to “forward driving” position
  7. Stop and turn car off.
  8. Restart car, put into reverse and check mirror drops to where I set it.

If I press and hold down one pf the 3 seat memory buttons until i hear a beep, it also stores that reverse mirror setting for the button i selected.

NOTE: if someone changes the seat position or a mirror adjustment and re-stores it using the seat memory, the reverse mirror setting seems to get lost and needs to be redone.

Excellent timing. I couldn't seem to get my filling mirror to work at all despite the settings in the Maxidot suggesting it was enabled - I missed a few steps above. (Though admittedly I have also neglected to read the user book on it....)

I should  add that if you do steps 1 to 5 and nothing else, I think it stores the reversing mirror position in the key you are using at the time.

The problem is that between the three seat/mirror memory positions that can be saved AND either of the keys also storing the positions in the key memory - its hard to tell which way you set it or if the manuals instructions are totally correct!

Cheers for the replies

Got it working ok then went out in car about 8hrs later to find its gone back to doing the same, only moving in slightly

I'll have a few more goes and if it's still the same I'll take it in to the dealer as it's still under warranty

Cheers

Mine now works, never bothered to set this, car never stops amazing me. Will try to explain to the good lady as she uses it more to take the dogs out.
