unfortunately he was caught by the police before i got my hands on him, i know of the person who done it and i wouldnt be surprised if drugs played apart..

Hope they got "him/her" pity the MG owner where is he going to get that fixed and get parts. at least your mums clio will able to go to the stealers, just very upseting and incovinent for her, hope it gets sorted quickly.

the mg is only a year old and only 5000k on it, and the insurance say they will replace it. clio only worth around

The state of that MG wheel, that must have been quite a shunt

Hope it all gets sorted soon

Did the drunk driver get out without a scratch....they always seem to

it was quite a shunt the car didnt stop till it hit the bus stop on otherside of road just missing my mates clio 182.

the wheels are optional 18" mg alloys so might be a bit expensive to replace. (needs 3)

Hope the MG owners insurers pay out - that tyre looks bald, might just be the picture though as it shouldnt be at only 5k, they will use that as an excuse not to pay out though if it is bald.

they do look abit dodgy, but they are just on the lucky side.

Twice :D

Agreed.

And as a fan of MG Rover as well as Skoda this pains me when I look at the damage.

Given that X Part deals with MGR Parts, here's hoping that the bits should be available to reapir the car quickly.

Thats terrible, hope it gets sorted easily and quickly and the drunk gets whats he has coming to him.

And to think there are people around who disagree with breathalyser testing at this time of year....

Last night I followed a car that was doing about 10mph in a 50 limit for about 20 minutes. Swerving over the road and everything. Naturally I was on the phone to the local constabulary's Incident Handling Centre (control room) informing them of his progress until such time as he was locked up and (hopefully) he'll have the book thrown at him. A waste of oxygen...

Gutting.

The Clio is definitely a write off - hope she gets a good price for it - and a nice courtesy ca for the mean time.

And as for the MG - those tyres look alarmingly worn for such low miles, but shouldn't affect the claim.

As the car is so new - I'd be hoping for a "new price" payout.

To$$ers.

The most important thing is no innocent party were hurt..............Still.....Hang the Bast*rd..........Cut him down then Hang him again....Then cut off his arms to stop him driving...........That should do it!!!!!!!!!!!

Must of hit that MG with some serious force to do that

Hope they rot in hell!

A terrible shame, but I'm glad no inoccent party was injured. What state was the van in, if the MG is that badly off?

Hope everything gets sorted out quickly for you.

Steve

Sadly - unless the owner took out a GAP insurance policy he wont get anywhere near the new value of the car, and with MG Rovers being next to worthless in the trade now i dont hold much hope out for a decent payout, I suppose at least he wont have paid too much for it anyway (unless he bought it before the demise of MG rover).

Just hope he has an understanding insurer who do the decent thing - they aren't expensive cars to replace now so hopefully all will be well

Don't forget everyone, if you know someone who has had a few drinks and is likely to drive home. Call the police and let them know where they are, the vehicle and where they will be heading. NON-EMERGENCY NUMBER ONLY! It may not be 2 cars next time, it could be worse.

It's not 'grassing', its looking out for everyone, including your mate.

(Just to add my weight to the "Drink drivers are scum" school of thought.)

I could only disagree with one point - use of the non-emergency number in most cases would be a waste - I used the emergency number and the police that attended were more than happy with that - they actually stayed on line while I talked them into the exact location

If you use the non -mergency number around here :

it only gets an answer phone

i cant remember it:D :o

please use any number you can - get rid of the phsycopaths :)

I used to have a pint and drive but I now don't touch a drop when I drive. It's just not worth the risk of putting other people's lives in danger.
