Internal leather/trim colours

To me aesthetically, Petrol Blue and beige interior combo is a match made in heaven. But two reasons dissuaded me from going for that match.

1. I know I wouldn't make the effort to pamper the leather seats. I keep the cars "reasonably clean" by picking up the trash and bringing them to the occasional car wash, but that's about it. Our C Class and E Class had light and medium grey leather seats and human contact really left its mark in the cabin, especially where jeans and shoes may touch.

2. Just not a fan of hard plastic that's neither grey nor black.  :nerd:

I'll pick up a Petrol Blue S3 with black interior. It may look a bit dull but practicality wins this time.

I'll be doing the same -- thanks for all the feedback.

I would love a beige interior but with kids just wouldn't dare step into the thing.

As for the reversing camera, I think you'll find you get a wider field of vision than looking over your shoulder unless you have the ability to move your head 180 degrees. I put complete trust in mine and don't bother trying trying to do both, I just use the camera. If you ask folk who have one I think they will all tell you the same, reversing at sensible speeds it's faultless.

Serious question - what about vehicles/people/other objects coming from the sides when reversing? I've only seen pictures and it looks to me like you can happily see behind the car, but not sure about the size views. For example, the oblivious trolley-wielding shopper at the supermarket who'll happily keep coming even when you're 3 feet out the bay. I suppose the BSD might pick them up, but it all feels a bit too technology reliant to me.
