Touch Up paint - paint repairs

Featured Replies

New owner of a Octavia MkIII - got a couple of chips (incredibly minor) on my bumper. Which has driven me crazy. What advice in terms of touch up paint or something can you guys give. Racing Blue by the way.

If you're not confident in doing the repairs yourself I can certainly recommend the Chipsaway guys

Anyone tried 'chipex'

DIY paint chip and small scratch repair system.

Sounds good according to their website, but haven't tried it.

Bit expensive, but if it works.......

Meanwhile, my youngest has just had the whole front end and side skirts  of his new Festa ST wrapped in a clear 3M film that really protects from this pita.

BLOODY expensive though, but cheaper than a respray in a couple of years no doubt

Just get a Race Blue touch up from your dealer or EBay, clean the area and touch up yourself.

If the chip is very small, sometimes a cocktail stick is a better size to dab some paint in with.

Chipex is good, its easy to use once you get the nack - watch the Utube videos to see how to apply.  Only caution is that each pack has an expiry date so its a case of buy it when you have enough chips to use it all up..

You guys are the best! Thanks. :D

I tried Chipex on my Candy White Combi and was not very impressed. It looked really good on the video but I could not get the paint to stick and the colour was not quite right.

Chipex is crap. End of thread.
