Warning roof rail end plates

Featured Replies

My Yeti 1.2TSI S petrol 2010.

The plastic front end trim that covers the fixing screws on the N/S roof rail has disappeared.  I only noticed it the next morning after a night out at a car club noggin after which there was a 20 mile drive up a dual carriageway, at no more than 70 mph.  I am pretty sure theft can be ruled out as the pub for meeting is in a very quiet country location and I live up a farm track away from civilisation.  I assume it blew off (there was much wind around also at the time).

I checked the other side and found it was fairly easy to pry the front edge up a bit with finger-nail.  I have put 2 turns of black tape round the remaining trim (it hardly notices).

Has anyone else lost these trim covers?

How are these trims held on....and is there a particular way of removal/replace sequence....i.e. top or bottom edge first etc.?

Which other cars use the same roof rails? I may be able to find a replacement at a breakers.
