Vacuum to EGR valve diaphragm?

Featured Replies

Measured the vacuum to the EGR valve actuating diaphragm at idle.

Comes out at 13inHg - realise that this is a sort of average figure as vacuum is pulsing too fast for gauge to follow.

Gauge was connected using a 'T' so the vacuum circuit should still have been operational.

Anyone know what this vacuum figure should be? or what theirs is? (assuming car running OK)

Thanks

the figure will be variable(pulsed)   if that figure is 0 @idle I do not know,   wouldn't have thought matters  much as the whole thing is a closed loop -  once up to operating temp - you could let it idle for 2-3 minutes then "watch" it open and shut then check the measurement   --   unless this is a just want to find out opp' ,  I think you're reading too much into the finer points of which most of us(me) don't know     p.s. something you may not have considered is the exhaust pressure in addition to the control vac applied when running on the road some time back messing with conventional wastegate turbo pressures I worked on (guesstimated ) approx 3psi
