Which fault is causing "limp home" mode?

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Octavia Mk2 seems to be in "limp home" mode..!

The garage I took it to found 2 fault codes which I've looked up on here

16618 P0234 is "Turbocharger Overboost Condition Control limit exceeded" &

16706 P0322 is "Ign./Distributor Eng.Speed Inp.Circ No Signal"

Does anyone on here know which one is causing the "limp home" mode and does it make sense to get that fixed first?

Any help with the cause of the two codes and the likely cost of repair would also be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

Andy

There is a common fault with the cableing to the engine speed sensor as it is in a small tray that has a 90deg bend on it and some sharp edges that chafe the cable.

The turbo fault could well be the cause of the limp mode but the other fault which seems to be a crankshaft sensor fault could also cause cutting out.
