Featured Replies

Mine, I thought was working fine when I bought the car, but then seemed to loose power. I had the MAF replaced, and all seemed good for about a month, and then my fathers 1.7D Astra (60bhp) was faster and pulled up hills better. I then had the n75 valve changed, and it was no better. Eventually I located a replacement turbo, had it swapped and it has been ok since.....

What sort of price are exchanges then as I can imagin a new one would be massively expensive.

Its quite common, mainly on the low milliage models a few years old, that have had little use ( grandads!) you dont really see it coming, beacause the bearings stay fine, so it doesnt smoke, you just get the simptons described at the begining of this thread, and a fault code relating to turbo pressure not reached/ exceeded. Glad my advise came of good use. They really do fly when replaced!
