Finally it has arrived.....

Featured Replies

After just over 4 months my Octavia Sport TDI has arrived! :) Merry Christmas to me!!

Very nice to drive - but obviously taking it a bit easy at the moment.

Looks very nice and so far am very pleased.

Will try to take some pictures if anyone is interested - but it has rained constantly here since I picked up the car yesterday morning.

Anyway - wishing you all a very happy new year! :orb_party

Im expecting my new car next week - cant wait! Did christmas feel like christmas to you knowing your main presant was going to arrive shortly after? I just wanted it all over as soon as possible so it would be closer to the car arriving.

What colour did you go for and have you got any extras fitted?

Whats your first impressions?as I can't make my mind up whether to go for the Sport or the Elegance.

I went for Silver in the end - very tempted by the black but went for silver. As for extras - I went for: Curtain Airbags, Active Headrests, Jumbo Box, Climatronic A/C, Multi-Function Steering Wheel and Maxi-dot.

Weather is worse today :( - but hopefully will improve - I will give it a clean and take some pictures asap.

The Elegance is a lovely car - I know someone that has one. It comes with more toys as standard. I went for the sport in the end because I preferred the look of the car with the deeper bumpers and larger alloy wheels. Once I had added the extras I wanted it came with enough toys for me! (my previous car was quite basic).

I think it depends on whether you value the toys or the looks of the sport more. Both are great cars. I think you could add the bumpers and the wheels to the Elegance (and also ESP and a couple of other things to make it the same as the sport) but I don't know how this would compare cost wise.

The sports suspension for me is a very pleasant surprise. I like a firm suspension but was worried that it would be too stiff on day-to-day use. I have only had the car a couple of days but so far I am very happy. It is firm but handles lumps and bumps very well. Also in corners it feels very good  My wife and my 18 month old son have not had any complaints over comfort :).

Nice combo of extras you have there. You have the right colour aswell especially for this time of year. my last Octy was silver and it didnt show up half the dirt my black one does, it was rotten before i got it home from the dealers.

Look forward to the pics, Ill post some of mine when i get around to cleaning it.

Very nice..........My only comment is that the fog lights on the new octy are to big. I prefer the small round ones. Comments not pointed at your car Rich........Just new octy's in general

Is your boot spoiler at all wobbly?????

I have one on my Elegance as as option put on by the dealer - it feels a bit wobbly to me????

Cheers

Since Mr Morley has already broken the unwritten rule of finding fault in a fellow Briskodian's new motor  , i'll join in.

That's a fantastic looking motor there mate but i'm not convinced about the red reflectors on the rear bumper. Not sure why Skoda did that, I think they look daft.

Probably stick-on jobs. First thing i'd do is rip them off.

That's a very nice looking car

Can't see anything wrong with the reflectors myself :)

Thats it get me into bother:D ..............I don't like those red things either .......But Hey...............Nice car:thumbup:

if you have the red one you hardly notice them, not to mention the fact that in my opinion it look ace in red, but then i have a red furbie rs by choice so i`m bound to say that :)

No - it feels pretty solid to me so far.

As for the reflectors - I think they are stick on - same on the VRS - seen a few different cars with the reflectors in a similar position - including a bmw (although I don't think they were stick on ones). I don't dislike them myself.

Nice looking car.

Very nice - sporty suspension isn't a bad thing, generally it's still pretty forgiving but the handling will be a lot better :)

As for those reflective things, I have a feeling it's because there has to be a certain level of reflectiveness these days, and if the rear lights don't have sufficient reflective properties it's an easy way to make the car compliant :)

Funnily enough, mine added by the dealer is not solid, one side more than the other:thumbdwn: I have mentioned it to the dealer when I picked up the car, he said see how it is in a few weeks, ie if it gets worse bring it back, well it hasn't but I suppose that is not the point. He didn't seem to have much faith in their body shop as it'll probadly need a respray if they refix it.

I had major problems with the spoiler on my old Octy 1 which should of put me off getting one fitted retro!! A long story which included several refits and resprays and arguements with the Dealer(gone now) and Skoda Customer Services.

Sorry for gripe, nice motor but glad I didn't get the silver myself as the bloke around the corner has a silver sport:)

I was going to have the spoiler fitted to my elegance, dealer told me I would have to leave the car with them because the glue needs 24hrs to set.

Car looks great mate nice to see another sport, ive only seen one on the road since they were launched (black one).

Hi there I went for a 2.0 TDI DSG Elegance Estate and I have to say I find it a very nice drive. Had it with all the kit except leather seats.

One thing I found was the ride was a bit on the harsh side when tires are set to factory pressure so I dropped 2 PSI out all round and this seems to made all the difference.

Mind you with the power available keep it to 30 mph in town is difficult.

No so far it is a nice piece of kit, but then it has less than 900 miles on the clock.

Anyone else think the front bumper on the sport is better than the VRS - especially the lower middle section? Same width as the top half - looks better in my opinion - don't understand why they didnt do this on the VRS.

I would but then again I have the sport front bumper on my L&K!
