minor smack, class c is a repairable crash wouldn't touch class a or b

Xeman, as long as you are happy with your new car, thats all that matters. Seems like a bargain, and if there is in fact nothing wrong with it, and you seem satisfied that there isn't, you won't lose any money when you come to sell it on. That alone seems to have created some envy, hence the odd negative comment. Very easy for someone who doesn't know the story, or seen your car, to sit at home, slightly envious of the price you paid, to say, "there must be a problem". Don't worry about it.

Again, I see you picked the best colour :D

yeah I am happy, I have repaired quite a few cars myself including loads of bodywork and welding.

The fabia is spot on I know where it has been repaired and ripped all the interior panels off in that area to check that it was repaired properly

to be honest its not the cars that have a history that bothers me its the ones that don't, my mate bought a mint fiesta turbo (few years ago when they was newish) it looked lovely and drove perfect then he had to have a windscreen replaced, when they took the old one out you could see the weld marks on the A pillar where it had been cut and shut

I agree Shifty.

It may well have been as a result of a new for old policy that it was discarded by the insurer's and as expected xeman had the good sense to make all the right checks.

Often the problem is that people hear that it has a history and then assume that the person who bought it has no idea of what they've bought.

But insurers don't do "new for old" replacement unless the car is very substantially damaged - the damage costing over 60% of list price to repair. £7,200 or so is a heck of a lot of damage.
