It Pays To Shop Around For Furby Vrs

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just thought I should share my experience of ordering my new Furby VRS a week and a half ago. Having considered factory order (week 52) build, delivery January 2004 at the earliest. Decided to contact three different dealers to establish what cars were already in the country. All have access to the same computer system but offered slightly different deals.

I particulary wanted red vrs with factory fitted cruise control and sunroof. My local dealer found such a car at Grimsby but it also had xenons and side air bags which I didn't particularly want due to cost etc. I was told I would have to pay for these unwanted options. After some haggling I was offered a reduction equivilent to the cost of the side air bags.

However an enquiry at another dealer and further searching on the skoda network computer found the same car as detailed above but this dealer would only charge for my required options of the sunroof and cruise control!! The side airbags, passenger airbag disarming switch, Xenons and headlamp wash would be free of charge. Goodnews!! Better news was to come when the second dealer disclosed that this car also had a six disc cd changer, something not mentioned by the previous dealer?

The only hurdle was to prize this vehicle of a third dealers stock list. I was lucky and the car is now on its way to from Grimsby to Chichester.

I did enquire about mudflaps and a towbar (I tow a small sailing dinghy). Towbar not yet available for VRS which has different bumpers which also apparently effects the fit of rear mudflaps which are also not yet available for vrs. VW should have sorted this out before marketing the vehicle.

Have also managed to get hold of great VRS number plate from DVLA - only two hundred and fifty pounds!! not J999 VRS though. something similar but shorter.

Now looking forward to picking furby up in a couple of weeks.

Welcome to briskoda!

Have just ordered a Furby vRS too but having to wait until next year. Its having the extras I want so I dont mind the wait..

Didnt get a discount on mine but the delaer will give me a decent trade in on the TDi if i dont sell it privately.

Amazing deal! I sort of wish I had gone for the 6 disc changer myself now!

I can't wait to see what number plate you got yourself. Am still toying with a personal plate for my vRS.

BTW - Welcome to Briskoda :D

Was thinking the same Graeme, but at least with that sort of thing its easy to retro fit later. Unlike xenons etc.

This is true. Might go for an MP3 HU instead, so as to save running wire etc through car! Just have to download an MP3 converter from the net. Probably be about the same as the factory CD changer too! :D

Good deal!

welcome BTW! :D
