hahaha can you tell Im rubbish at this stuff :blush

Ok, reformatted it to Fat32, now its copying the download onto it

Couldn't find anything about limiting cluster size as mentioned in another thread though.

Will just see if it fits on the card

Well, its copied to the card OK

Will go and plug it in the car now, and see if its all good.

Also DL the radio station logos, is that just a case of usb stick and input into the HU from there?

Sorry for being a PITA

Regarding the Logo's, you have to manually select the logo to which station you wish to asign it to.

You will also have problems with an iMac as it puts unwanted files on the card, there are some posts on here regarding how to make it work, but if you know someone with a Windows PC it is easier.

As mentioned earlier. ;)

Download and use this utility to clean said files from the card. Blueharvest.

Yes, just tried it, and it won't even read the card

@Rustynuts Thanks, I already have Blueharvest so will try that

So, I have reformatted the card again, ran the download through Blue harvest and now putting the download onto the SD card again.

Hope thats the right thing to do

just keep getting this screen :wall:

When I reinsert the card into the car, do I need to do anything?

Stuck what to do now, other than putting the old maps back on :(

I don't own a Mac but shouldn't you clear the unwanted files from the SD Card after you have downloaded your new maps to it?

My idea would be to follow the download portal instructions to the letter then run the Blue Harvest just before putting the card in the slot.

Right, Im starting from Scratch

DL the update again

OK, so currently downloading the update onto my iMac.

Do I just copy the files onto an SD Card, or does it have to be the Skoda one whats in my car?

As you have an Amundsen it must be a genuine Skoda SD card.

You're using a Mac so that will put some extra unwanted files onto the SD card with filenames starting with (dot)(underscore) which do confuse the Amundsen and make it say the card doesn't have sat nav data on it - as you have seen. To solve that you'll have to find a Windows PC and delete the unwanted files added by OS X.

So cleaning it with blue harvest won’t delete the unnecessary files?

Blue Harvest *should* delete them all, but if you get the same error message again then checking with a Windows PC would seem a good idea.

Ok. If not, I’ll have to see if I can get someone with a PC to dl it for me then

Sorted.

Thanks everyone

Me too :D

Can I just add that I used a Mac with no issues and no need to delete extraneous files. I just:

1. Copied the existing map folder off the SD card in case there was a problem.

2. Deleted the folder from the SD card ensuring I emptied the trash.

3. Extracted the zip file and copied the folder onto the SD card ensuring the layout remained the same as at step 1.

4. Inserted SD card into the car.

5. Job done.

Your probably way better than me on a computer (which isn't very hard :D)

My sd card seems to have died. Tried two different card readers and confirmed they work by putting another sd card in but my skoda card will not show up. Any suggestions on where to buy a new one?

If you need a genuine Skoda SD then either ebay (make sure it's a legit seller - dealer, breakers etc.) or try Briskoda parts. Always had good prices from the latter for genuine parts.

Thank you. Fortunately a little searching gave me a way to resuscitate the original. Still doing battle to update using an iMac though. Invalid sd card message :-(
