...on the Hatch, but in the bumper skin of an Estate since that doesn't have a rubbing strip.

I have!

I fitted them myself, it really is not a big job to do, the bumper does not even have to come off (But Big K says it is easier).

The kit comes with comprehensive instructions & the job takes no more than 2 hours (with tea drinking time) from walking out of the house to tooling up & walking back in after a test drive.

This basically involves drilling holes in the rubbing strip, corresponding holes in the bumper, fixing the sensors to the rubbing strip with the supplied self adhesive pads, passing the wires through the bung at the centre of the rear valance, connecting into the original wiring on the rear lamp with the supplied connectors, fixing the relay box to the rear slam panel, feeding the wiring under the trim through the car to the B post (where the seat belt reel is mounted). The supplied speaker is fixed under the trim, the trim is replaced & thats it !!

Simple really !!

I have added some images to show some of the steps.

Nice work, Graham, but a pity that method of fitting won't work for the Estate. :(

Where did you get the kit and how much was it.

Does the rubbing strip just slide off or do you nead to pull it off ?
