2 new fronts needed

Featured Replies

I currently have Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres all round (225/40/R18). I'm going to need the 2 fronts changed over within the next month. Do I go for the same again, or something different? Will it make a difference if the front and rear pairs are different tyres?

I cover approximately 100 miles a day for travelling to work and back (5 times a week) and occasional weekend use, so need something that's fairy durable. But also want something that sticks well to the ground... any recommendations will be greatly appreciated!

Different front to rear is no real problem. I always make sure that across the axle are the same (ie nearside same as offside). You don't have to buy expensive Bridgestone tyres again. In fact many middle market tyres are made by the big companies and are just as good. My local tyre specialist friend has been fitting Khumo tyres to mine and his own vehicles for some time now and I have to say on my Fabia they were really good in the dry and wet. Much better than the last pair of Yokohama tyres I had. In fact some manufacturers are fitting Khumo in the factory now. And they are a lot cheaper than the big names. Shop around you don't have to buy the big names. Just don't go for silly unheard of budget tyres in my opinion.

I've always found the Bridgestones expensive what the grip, noise and fuel economy. Switching to Goodyear Efficient grip performance has really quietened down the car.

Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 or 3 would be my choice :)
