My front drivers side wheel sits further back then the other side all the bushes etc are fine. Any one any ideas to what it could be ?

how are you lining it up? Could it be the wing thats out instead?

Just by looking at it. Wings all look fine

Don't guess, get a mate and a tape measure and measure between front and rear wheel centres on both side to quantify any difference, then post again and tell us the numbers in millimeters please.

Did that other day it's 20mm of difference

Sorry to question you Techie, but, 20mm out on the subframe? Would the subframe bolts not need to have broken or perhaps the OP's hit a humongous pothole to get that much of a difference?

Surely the car would handle like a SOB?

Why not subframe? 1mm deviation in "subframe bore <-> bolt" can make much more mm further, where wheel is attached...

Maybe one of fine bushes are installed incorrectly? Don't know what bushes (standard X-type or some others with full rubber) are You using for control arms' rear- but X-type bushes should be aligned correctly.

Line between control arms' ball joints makes 90* to cars' central line?

If the subframe is misaligned then the O/S/F wheel will be 10mm further forward and the N/S/F will be 10mm further back giving the appearance of a 20mm difference side to side.

If both consoles have been removed at the same time for bush replacement or whole console replacement, that could easily explain the misalignment,  I think, bearing in mind the error amplification indars points out in post #8.  As I understand it, the subframe that the steering rack sits on is bolted to the consoles with little or no play in the bolt holes, it's the positioning of the consoles relative to the chassis/body that determines the subframe position. Easily got wrong if both consoles are taken off at the same time, and the subframe left floating around.
