Carista ODB2.... Worth buying or not?

Featured Replies

It is just the customisations that have not been worked out as the diagnostic and service work just fine

Not being pedantic, just disagreeing with vc-10's comment about it just running as an OBD2 scan tool, but OBD2 or what we call OBDE, really only covers the engine, or originally emissions parts of engine - so that any generic garage scan tool can read them, as said by law, I was just making it clear that Carista is currently covering all the smart modules fitted to this platform of car, which in the event of an problem with that car, gives access to a lot more VAG specific codes, including more engine codes.

After having the carista app and the odb2 connected to the car I can seriously say it is not worth it!!

Even while testing the beta version of the app, you cannot do much with the customisations. There is not even auto lock on the app. So if you have a new vehicle I would hold out.

If you have a before 2016 model you might find the carista useful.
