Should I Pay For Isr When I Picked Up My New Furby?

Featured Replies

Hmm.

Just on the thought of security for a minute or two, and when I picked up my car, my dealer said it would cost me to get it registered with ISR. Can't remember how much, something between

It should be free..

i got the details in the post last week.

Ah thanks Colin. I'll just have another read through the paperwork and see if anything comes in through the post :)

ISR registration is included in the price of the Octy RS (& other Octy's i'm sure)...

Your dealer might be trying it on, check it out before you sign anything ;)

Too late, MH. Already signed on Saturday and have put 250 miles on the car already :p

Still tryinh to digest the manual, so I'll have a look through the ISR paperwork (he did talk about it).

Maybe I misunderstood something - there was so much stuff regarding the car that at 9 am on a cold Saturday morning, I hadn't fully awoken!! ;)

Time will reveal all

It's free. Who tried to charge you???

 - and Skoda UK step in to the fray and lay down the law! :D

I think it should be free too, IMO.

What is ISR???

At least another long long 7 weeks till my car is delivered... Dont think I can last!! All you guys getting your is making me really jelous!!

Tfboy - Any pictures of the black with xenons - just to give me a better idea of what mine will ... eventualy ... look like>

Speaking of delivery though - any of you guys had the interior protected - do you think its worth the money - bearing in mind Im pretty fussy about keeping my car's interior clean anyway?

Cheers - Ross.

The ISR (International Security Register) is a confidential database, operated by Retainagroup, which holds details of vehicles together with the names and addresses of their owners. The system provides a 24-hour helpline and verification service available to the public and Police. Every Skoda sold in the UK is permanently identified by having its windows marked with a unique identification number and the telephone number of the ISR 24-hour helpline. When you buy a new Skoda your Skoda dealer registers the identification number with the ISR. Retainagroup will then send you confirmation of registration.

Yes it would be nice to see some more pictures of a black furby with Xenons!

Personally I wont pay through the nose for the dealer to put fabric protector on the seats etc. I will probably do it myself after I've bought it and it should work out much cheaper.

Even the seats on my current fab show up the dirt quickly and I find the best way to clean them is with watered down carpet cleaner and a sponge.

Both the current vRS and the old 16v came with the ISR registration free! Can't see why you have been asked to pay for it.

On the subject of seat. I use a set of Snap-on Seat cover to keep the front seats grub free on the daily commute to and from work! :p

Yup, I guess my dealer (being normally a Saab dealer) is still getting used to the system. I'm sure I'll receive the paperwork through the post sometime soon.

He also said that when you lock the car with the remote control, one press locks the car and you press it a second time to enable the deadlocks. Reading through the manual, it turns out it's the opposite, so here was I saying "I've got a really secure car when I press my blipper twice!"

So guess he's confused himself with the ISR bit too :p

Ross and Matt, I'll try and take some pics today or tomorrow showing the "options" I have on the car.

Cheers.
