Insurance Renewal - Anyone actually get a decent quote?!

Featured Replies

I've recently changed to a VRS TDI (Pick it up on Saturday) and my previous car a 1.4TDI Fiesta was around £260, with the VRS my insurance went up £149, not bad really.

So when I first got my vRS 230 I tried calling Chris Knott for a quote and was told I'd be wasting my time because I can't carry over NCD from another company and would have to start from zero. WF? How are they supposed to get new customers like this?

I called another company too, can't remember the name now :( but they also told me I can't use a NCD from another company. Is this a new thing now? I thought NCD was transferable. After all this crap I ended up sticking with the same company I always have- Bell.

Also strangely enough, while I was scoping out cars to buy- the Civic Type-R was like £100 cheaper to insure than the vRS. It has 60+ BHP over the vRS and is vastly more attractive to steal. What the hell? Insurance is like some kind of random number generator or something. No logic what so ever.
