Deals on new vRS already

Featured Replies

I was in Elmside garage today having a small warranty job done. while waiting I took the opportunity to have a look at the new octy vrs (and very nice it is too).

The salesman was quick to point out what a bargin it was but I had to stop him in his tracks and complain about the lack of rear electric windows. His answer to that was "if you buy one then we will throw in the lecky windows, jumbo box, dual zone climate and the 18" alloys"

I said "I thought you didnt do deals on such a new model" and he replied "if that will make you buy one then im sure we can arrange it"

Now that sounds more of a bargin at

Funnily enough, my dealer has that spec too...

although if you check the Skoda uk model comparison site, the vrs has a £700 dealer discount.

Get on Drive the Deal, spec your car, get the quote, print it off, take to dealer and ask them to match and watch them squirm.

These are NOT imports, they are UK dealer supplied. If they wont match (or beat) the price you can always go on line and order.

Drive the Deal quoting £17414.48 for a metallic vRS with 18"wheels, dual zone climate, jumbo box, rear leccys and maxidot.

But would the Irish dealer accept a 6 month old UK part ex????????

I dunno, but even if they did at those prices you'd loose a fortune when they'd pay VRT.

But what would be the chances of flogging your own privately in the UK them coming over here ? For 2 grand its got to be worth considering !

Spec the car to the same as the Irish one and see how it compares ? 18's are the only one missing for the irish spec one (not sure about Jumbo box )

let me know the spec and i will tell you the price

If I knew that I could get a good enough price for the car than yes. As it's specced up there may be problems though.

is this at me ? give me a minute to find them

Here ya go,

Also http://www.skoda-auto.ie/newcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=Details&vehicle_id=732238220051122&strSpecs=SSCIRL2002 ( Single ellipsoidal lens Xenon bulb headlights & High pressure headlight cleaners are mentioned but Xenons are an option, ), but I think theres some things missing for this list as opposed to the PDF one

I understand, but no harm in considering all the options. Btw you must really like the vRS.

I originally wanted the first one but the insurance was too much and the next time it was the obsolete so I went with the diesel planning on upgrading in 18 months time. Well I saw it yesterday, and was dumb enough to get an insurance quote. It was less than what I thought it would be.:o

Without me going throught the lists again the Std Spec DEFINITELY includes,

Happy Days, like me when I bought the first one (The Astra was only 12 months old  ). So what colour ?

If I do, I would probably go for black as I've had the grill colour coded so I could do a straight swap and the one in my dealers is that colour and looks really nice. I do like the red and blue though.

Only my opinion, but I think he wanted to sell you one of his, in "dealer spec", rather than discount a factory ordered one. I'm testing one tomorrow, in the spec you have mentioned, and if I can get it for 17500, dependant on the test drive, I may well order one.

Price was for a new car and defo not the demo if thats what you mean by dealer spec. Tbh as long as the car was a new model (ie no more than a couple of miles) then i wouldnt care.

As for buying online -

Ive took my last two cars in for warranty repairs and the first thing they have said is "did you buy from skoda, because if not they will not repair under warranty"

May just be my experience, anyone ever had problems with warranty on non skoda dealer cars?

With these internet companies you they just act as a middle man and you actually do all your dealings with the Skoda dealer who then give a commision. What car magazine do the same thing with regards to their target price lists.

Thinking of moving over to the dark side, Shifty?

grill looks really smart - is it easy to do, does the paint stick ok?

but then you could buy a nice new blue vrs and sell you grill................;)

If you order "on line" through drive the deal you will be purchasing from a UK Skoda dealer. That dealer pays a small commission to drive the deal for the sale.

I had the grill done professionally so theres no problems with it at all.

If I do decide to get a vRS and it ends up in blue I'll let you know.

Your wish is my command....

Before, after and close up

Roo,goodness me!

Car looks dead smart btw.Probably nicer fogs than the vRS too.

Can't imagine what you have would be left for dust by a new vRS?
