Dog Guards/Boot Dividers

Featured Replies

I'm just doing an early search ready for when my Superb estate arrives later in the year.

Has anybody got a dog guard and/or boot divider? Looking in the Skoda accessories brochure the fit is not very clear, plus it looks like they don't do a divider.

Any recommendations for Ebay sellers etc, ideally with nice clear pictures of the fitting method, as I'd like to be able to easily remove and store when not in use.

TIA

+ 1.

Not on a Superb, but had one of a VW. Fab quality and easy fit with no rattles.

I have the Skoda one, not for a dog but to keep kit in the back in event of a smash and dealer asked did I want the dividing one. Didn't look at the catalogue if honest, so not sure what is described.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

We have a Lintran dog crate in the back of ours. Easy to remove and clean when needed, and has solid sides and top to help prevent muddy splashes all over the boot area

They look good Inoffski, and only just up the road from me.

Which version do you have? do they fold down? as they look a bit of a pain to store.

It's the DB2004 that we have. Unfortunately they do not fold up. Ours lives in the back of the car, only coming out occasionally. I think the DB2006 would fit as well, it's a bit taller than the 2004.

Where do you put the luggage then?

I've got the official partition net screen. I guess this is a factory option as it clips into 2 sockets in the roof lining - unless all Superb get this?. It also screws into the rear seats but is completely removable by folding the seats forward and sliding it sideways.

It's ideal for keeping stuff in the boot, but I would question it as a dog guard to be honest. It might not be strong enough to contain some bigger breeds of dog. As it's a nylon type fabric, a dog could (and probably will) get round the sides of the partition. There is also the likelihood of claws damaging the netting.

Where do you put the luggage then?

There's only 2 of us - so luggage on back seat, or in the caravan. Dogs always with us when we go away

Car and puppy both expected mid-August. It's only a very small dog (Cavapoo) , and I have a hatch on order. Has anyone used any of the dog carrier things you can get for seats, like this one: http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product_group.asp?dept_id=570&pg_id=3330 ?

We want the boot for luggage and the dog to be on the seats. Just wondering if anything like the above is any good?

Cavalier Poodle Cross maybe

My dad's cavalier was the first car I drove regularly after passing my test... Never saw it getting randy at the sight of a poodle so not sure if that would be technically possible...

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cross Poodle ?

Is it easy to remove? I'd prefer a dealer one, as presumably it clicks into the mounting holes in the headlining. Unfortunately the catalogue isn't very clear on this.

Yeah, its easy to remove. I have the dealer fitted one and its been in and out the car a couple of times thanks to IKEA and the wife.

Cool, thanks for the nod. I'll probably go down the dealer (or ideally a second hand one on Ebay) route when the car arrives then.

You got it!

And while the cavalier might not have been randy, but if the poodle was it quite possibly would've tried mounting it :D

Hi Inoffski and others.

I have ordered a new L&K estate with the raised boot floor.  I have 2 retrievers and would like to get the Lintran 2006 as I think my dogs would need the height.  I have tried measuring the dogs (not very scientific!), but have you ever tried to get retrievers to sit still long enough!  I currently have a 2011 Superb estate and there is a lip about two and a half inches (or 6 and a bit cms) high.  I would like to use the dog crate in that car until the new one arrives sometime in October

I have 3 questions.

Is the false floor removable?

Has anyone tried a Lintran 2006 in a superb and does it fit?

Is it likely to fit my existing car until the new one arrives?

I don't expect one person to be able to answer all 3 questions, but I would appreciate help from anyone who has an answer to any of the above.

Thanks

Hi Pilkers

I had a 2012 Superb Estate with the DB2004 in it before I got my new one. Neither of my cars had/has the raised floor. As far as I know the DB2006 has the same footprint as the 2004, so it should fit, it just depends on the height.

Looking at the Lintran website, there is only a 2 inch difference in height between the 2004 and 2006 - so assuming that the raised floor gives another 2 inches in height, I would say that the 2006 would fit - there is more than 4 inches space above my 2004.

Might be best to give the people at Lintran a call just to be sure.

Hope this helps

  • 3 weeks later...

The floor of the car drops 3-4 inches in the lower position of the variable boot floor, No idea about your crate size though. I had a rear guard custom made expensive yes but no rattles at all, also means I can leave the car with the boot up and the dog secured in the car with his water bowl for short periods of time, Provided it's not to hot.!!!

  • 2 months later...

Forgive me if i'm repeating a previously asked question.

I did a search, no exact results, but my question seems like a question that must probably would have been asked already.

Where can i get a dog guard for Superb Estate with pano roof?

All guards i've seen online wont fit if you've a pano roof.

Unfortunately I don't think there is a tailored one out there that fits with the Pano Roof.

I don't have a pano roof but looked at loads when deciding to get my Travall and every dog guard said does not fit pano roof.

Might have to go for a generic/universal one I'm afraid or  maybe a Lintran crate or similar will work rather than a guard.
