rip in seat

Featured Replies

I've  had my s3 for 4 months now just noticed tear in rear seat when folded down looks like its been done with a knife (right at the bottom corner). Then looked at the other side and it's the same ? I took it to my dealer. After 3 weeks he said that it is same on all s3 just wanted to know if any one else has spotted this ? as mine SEL with leather seats but there is little fabric at back of the seat My dealer said if he order a new one it would be the same?

Take a photo and post it and I will check sounds odd on both sides though

How do you put photos on here

Could possibly be opening for Isofix?

Could be. Some seat designs require an extra strap or a 'top tether' when using an isofix seat, but the anchor point is usually in the middle centre of the seat or somewhere in the boot. With our Qashqai you had to cut the back of the seat with a knife to expose it.

Pics would probably help rather than us purely guessing

How do you put photos on here

Have to use photo bucket or something similar and copy the url code

Well.... That looks like a split to me ... I'll check mine later ..

I will relay that info to my grandson for next time. :D

Yeah mines exactly the same both sides. Very odd... Cant see how that can be right with the foam poking out ?

Maybe... it's done at build to prevent it wearing out and having to be replaced. If it's built that way it can't be wrong. I guess we need more checks done :)

Just a update for anyone interested rang skoda uk today as a little concerned that in time the cuts will get bigger. And can not believe that nobody else as spotted the cuts and reported it to skoda. So the person I've spoken to has not heard of this before and taken my name and phone no and car reg. I must say it doesn't look

right why would they put cut there ? (as foam deteriorates in light)so I think the more people that ring skoda uk the better

Just checked mine and its the same

Just looked at mine, same as yours.

Mine is the same

Mine is the same. It isnt a split; it looks more like an opening that has been made purposely. Or maybe just a cheap finishing to the corner of the seat covering.

On the near side seat in mine there is a small black plastic sheath inserted thru the gap that appears to carry a cable or wire. So perhaps a simple mass production design for an entry point??
