Bluetooth Question

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im about to place an order for the superb either the SE exec or L&K spec, Im hoping somebody can help with this question?

I currently have 2 phones, a work iphone 5c and my own galaxy s5.

I only want to use the Iphone for voice and so use my own phone for music streaming.

My question is that as I am unable to edit the Bluetooth settings on the iphone like i can with my android in the OS are there settings on the superb to disable the media streaming on my iphone connection to allow my android to work?

You can connect 2 phones at once on Bluetooth so I have an iPhone, for work, which is connected for calls and steam music from my android phone so all you will need to do is connect them both via Bluetooth and they should work fine.

Sounds like that would work for Mattster. If I may then please hijack this thread slightly... I know 2 can be connected simultaneously, can anyone tell me though how many devices it can remember in total and if it's different for phone services vs music streaming?

My current car can remember several phones for Bluetooth calls, but only 2 for streaming music and occasionally it annoys me as I might want to stream my iPad to it instead of my phone as it has a higher capacity but to do it I need to delete my partners phone out to connect it.

many thanks ill try it when it arrives. I have the MK2 leon currently and for some reason the i phone insists on taking over the bluetooth media streaming with no way to disable this on the car settings or Iphone hence the question.

My current car can remember several phones for Bluetooth calls, but only 2 for streaming music.

I am sure the Columbus can remember multiple mobiles without issue, you simply go into the phone list and select the two you want it to connect to first if there are multiple devices active.

As for music streaming, if your device has a profile on the system, it just means you would have one mobile and one steaming device connected.

It might even be smart enough to let you have 2x phones connected with one of them streaming as well. It would then be down to the phone to handle/manage the streaming and call interaction.
